    Ironside,

I think we need to put the P4P list in perspective. It is not relevant for inactive fighters. Ring magazine established rules that they would not penalize fighters for inactivity.

I don't think that is applicable in the case of a 43 year old fighter. When you are 43, A LOT can change during the year that you are inactive. And, yes, BHop was inactive for the better part of a year.

Everybody knew that Hop at 43 couldn't keep up with Joe's work rate.

That's not true, if it was so, not so many people would have chosen B-Hop over Calzaghe, and like I said before, B-Hop isn't your average 43 year old. It's not like B-Hop was completely gassed in the Calzaghe fight by the later rounds.

The British don't overhype their fighters any more than American's do.

Absolutely. But overhype is rampant, cross-continentally

Im British but i have to say yes, theres alot of posters on here that are extremely biased like they have to defend every British fighter no matter the subject, sometimes it goes over the top,i enjoy boxing,i know great talent when i see it,and bring the truth,i hate it when i see biased to the fullest,if someone where to make a thread " WHO WINS - CALZAGHE VS TYSON AT HEAVYWEIGHT " some people would actually pick Calzaghe

I voted no but I'd agree David Haye is hyped out of all proportions.

Yes, but no worse than you under-credit them. It is alsos no worse than Wlad_OWNS overhypes Eastern European heavies, no worse than Mexicans overhype Antonio Margarito. Puerto Ricans with Cotto, etc. It is a cultural thing. Smaller populations (and Wlad becomes a glaring exception, but he's also alone on his team) who spring up a big time fighter simple rally around them unlike a population the size of the United States. We see it more localized here so it comes out inconsistent. Blacks will go for Floyd, whites will go crazy for Kelly Pavlik. It is also really regionalized, such as Cory Spinks being god in St. Louis, or that absurd following Joe Mesi worked up in Buffalo, NY. Our whole country never rallies though. It is sort of sad. We are so jaded, so divided, that we can't even go crazy for one fighter.

B-Hop wasn't gassed because he had no activity. He was busy trying to take time off from phantom nut-punches and trying to draw a point deduction.

And Calzaghe was the favourite, sir.

                    C'mon, man....43.

I remember back in 2004 when British posters would tell me Audley Harrison is the next Lennox Lewis. Although that was on the other site, I heard it from people here too until Danny "LOL" Williams knocked him on his ass.

I remember British posters telling me Mayweather was afraid of Hatton and that Hatton could "effectively pressure" Floyd for the win. I saw Hatton get dominated for 9 rounds and knocked the **** out.

I remember British posters telling me Calzaghe would dominate and KO Hopkins. He barely squeaked by the 43 year old man AND got knocked down in the first round.

Another British poster told me Gary Lockett was a better opponent than Kassim Ouma or Cory Spinks.

I read nothing on Amir Khan and refuse to until he fights an opponent with a pulse.
