Alright, lets play then. Take a look at the examples he listed. In your HONEST opinion, do you believe that Pavlik vs. Calzaghe will be more anticipated by casual fans and the boxing community than Cotto vs. Margarito? We arent talking about just Cotto OR Margarito, we're talking about the FIGHT itself. Will Cotto vs. Margarito, the FIGHT not be more anticipated than Pavlik vs. Calzaghe the fight?

Baldomir was paid a career high 1.6 million dollars to fight Mayweather. He is a journeyman who lucked his way into this fight by beating Judah, who quit after about the 5th round, like he always does. Bum no, journeyman yes. Margarito, while not elite, is a few steps above journeyman.

I don't see how you can decide which generates more excitement, especially considering one of them is still hypothetical.

Depends which side you want my answer to favor. Cotto-Margarito will be more hyped and anticipated by the group of people who are interested, but Pavlik-Calzaghe will be hyped to many, many more people.

Unsuccessfully hyped to the general public. Also, being known by the common fan and cared about are 2 very distinct and different things.

i have a feeling you are debating against me just to do it. polls are pretty good representations of what the people like. i can guarantee that we can make polls on diff boards and the result will be the same. majority opinion equates general consensus. Margarito and Cotto are more established in the mainstream media than Pavlik and Calzaghe. Anyone who says otherwise is just lying for the sake of argument.

You're in no position to criticize after claiming Cotto got wobbled by Gomez.
