Boxing is an extremely unfashionable sport, here in the UK it is generally seen as the domain of knuckledraggers, with the general public only able to overcome their disdain for the really big fights.

I can only imagine the situation is worse in America, since therapy and political correctness seem to infest your culture more than they do ours.

That's not a diss by the way, just an observation.

why do people want it to be big??? so we can have 10 times more floydboyz or pavliklovers or pacfans.....i like it the way it is...anyone who isnt watching boxing already is clearly an idiot....

the only reason i would like it to be famous is to have more tv dates therefore more televised fights.....but weighing pros and cons, its not worth it...

where about in uk do you live, its not viewed like that in Manchester. Hatton is viewed as a hero,, good working class done good and an inspiration to everyone that if you put the effort and hard work in then you can achieve everything you want in life, and then you can go on the piss to celebrate afterwards

Well, I am the definition of a middle class *******, most of my friends think I'm insane for liking boxing at all. They think its too violent.

I bet the uni students in manchester don't like it do they?

More exposure more Money and better longevity for the sport in the future.

You can thank the 90's corruption of the heavyweight division for the current state of boxing. Too many terrible decisions and too many terrible fights as the decade wore on. Plus, the lack of a real dominant HW since Lennox. I think Wladimir is just about there though, so hopefully he can continue to dominate because it will do wonders for the sport.
