Why does Pavlik get a free pass fighting Lockett?

He is a good puncher and it will be a pretty entertaining fight. HE can take some punishment.

The one thing i can see Pavlik having trouble with his getting over anxious. He hasn't ever in the past really, but This guy has a high guard and keeps his distance. I could see Pavlik lunging with his right hand and getting caught with something lucky and ******.

Other then that, this guy poses almost no real threat.


With that said, Taylor went from fighting bums to getting his title shot. For Pavlik, i has been a looooooong way up to the top. He deserves an easy fight or 2.
The RUBIO fight would be in OHIO

which is good except Lockett was a career light middleweight until recently. sorry quoted the wrong ****..should have highlighted your comment about fighting a guy in your weight class is better than fighting a lil champ.

Lockett is a small guy, Pavlik should feasibly be campaigning at SM or even LH

Yeah but it's not like there are other MWs he should have fought but didn't. It's not Pavlik's fault Duddy fizzled, Lee lost, and the remaining young challengers are less than elite.

Abraham is the big matchup, and that's in the works.
