Why does Pavlik get a free pass fighting Lockett?

I think it has something to do w/ the manner Taylor won his titles in...

Taylor won a close decision over Hopkins
while Pavlik won by a TKO; nobody can ***** because it didn't end on a decision

Taylors enusing title defenses: ANOTHER close decision against B-Hop which didn't really justify anything and fights Wright to a draw, Ouma where he should've scored a KO against, Spinks in another close fight, and Pavlik.

This is where the problem lies: he's had too many close fights.
So this is the reason Pavlik doesn't get much **** because he ends fights with KO's.

yes that also they way he went about winning fights. i mean hopkins is a crafty experienced guy who's never been knocked out or thoroughly dominated except for the jones fight. but still taylor being a young strong big middleweight should have made the victory convincing enough. the draw with wright didnt make it better.

ouma and spinks......i dont even want to comment on those. it had knockouts written all over them

and of course the fight with the hard hitting pavlik. this is what happenes when you step up against a guy like that after taking it soft with your title defenses

He is a good puncher and it will be a pretty entertaining fight. HE can take some punishment.

The one thing i can see Pavlik having trouble with his getting over anxious. He hasn't ever in the past really, but This guy has a high guard and keeps his distance. I could see Pavlik lunging with his right hand and getting caught with something lucky and ******.

Other then that, this guy poses almost no real threat.


With that said, Taylor went from fighting bums to getting his title shot. For Pavlik, i has been a looooooong way up to the top. He deserves an easy fight or 2.
