No matter how you cut it, Taylor got criticized for fighting guys that would mop the floor with Lockett. Oh wait, how can I say that when NOBODY ON THE ENTIRE PLANET has ever seen Lockett fight or even HEARD of him. What a ****ing joke.

It's Pavlik's first title defense coming off fights against Taylor (twice) and Miranda. He's dealing with a mandatory he has to get out of the way. It seems to me like you are being unreasonable.

so you seriously put ouma and spinks on that list.......

at least lockett is a natural middleweight

and the only reason taylor hopkins again is because it was in the contract and the decision wasnt legit.

the other defences following wright were bull****, there's no pass on anyone

No, the ones being unreasonable are the ones who criticized Taylor for fighting Ouma and Spinks. Who the **** is Gary Lockett? I'm sick of this double standard.

this post helps explain a lot. I think a LOT of people were bitter about Taylor beating Hopkins twice and couldn't let it go so they criticized Taylor non-stop. Now that Pavlik beat Taylor, people will love him no matter what he does while Taylor remains despised just for beating Hopkins twice.

Ok, so a few people were being unreasonable when Taylor fought those two junior middles. How does that make you reasonable when Pavlik fights someone he has to after three tough fights? Were you also complaining when Roy Jones fought worthless mandatories who nobody ever heard of?

first of all if you knew then you'd know that im not a fan of hopkins, i respect as a fighter because he overcame and accomplished a lot in his career. when taylor beat him i didnt give a ****. im just giving an observation on what happened. there was a rematch clause in the contract in case bernard lost and he got it.

even if there was no rematch in the contract a lot of people would have grilled taylor for his vicoty. he had no choice either way, that's how the rematch materialized. as far as the first fight, it could have easily been scored a draw. hopkins came on stronger in the last part of the fight.

it has nothing to do with me liking or disliking hopkins, it has everything to do with you clearly disliking pavlik

I think it has something to do w/ the manner Taylor won his titles in...

Taylor won a close decision over Hopkins
while Pavlik won by a TKO; nobody can ***** because it didn't end on a decision

Taylors enusing title defenses: ANOTHER close decision against B-Hop which didn't really justify anything and fights Wright to a draw, Ouma where he should've scored a KO against, Spinks in another close fight, and Pavlik.

This is where the problem lies: he's had too many close fights.
So this is the reason Pavlik doesn't get much **** because he ends fights with KO's.
