LOL this thread has a lot of smelly BS in it. Frankly there is no REAL beef between Mexicans and Puerto Ricans. At least not in all of the cities I have lived in. There is a competitive boxing rivalry, of course there is lets not forget Zarate, Gomez, Sanchez, etc.

Outside of that though it is incredibly minor. Yeah there is a bunch of lowlifes who **** it up for everyone and point fingers at each other but there is those from every country, and culture in the world. Hence, mexicans vs blacks, whites vs blacks, etc. And if you don't recognize that then that alone proves your ignorance.

Also Memin pinguin is a racist stereotype of a mexican-cuban kid. He was drawn with exaggerated african stereotypical features which were influenced by other highly successful stereotypical racist cartoons from the United States.

Also Memin Pinguin was highly popular especially among kids, go ask any kid in Mexico what Memin Pinguin is and you'd be hard pressed to find ANY kid who knows memin is A) of African decent, or B) Cuban. In fact i was born and raised in Mexico and I always knew about Memin but I had NO IDEA he was supposed to represent a person. Which I imagine was the opposite of the American cartoons which influenced it.

The sad thing is this thread shows that people feed on what the Media gives them. Mexicans vs Blacks is what the headlines say, like every Mexican and African American in the world is out to get each other. Please, all one has to do is educate one self to realize that is not how it is or how it has been.

Take a city like L.A. and more importantly the demographic of the places where the altercations have happened. Poor people squeezed together in a ****hole which is the ******, tempers are going to run high and **** is going to hit the fan, and it only takes some ******ed ass comments by the perps and some media with a gullible public to spread a ******ed ass assumption.

Lets not forget the Zoot suit riots. The Zoot suit itself was something that Mexican-Americans took influence from the African American style of the time.

Same thing happens in NY or any other congested ****** where two predominant cultures meet. Don't be blind and try to build something that isn't, for that is just downright ignorant. Use some common sense.

Sometimes I think the media wants us all to think that every single Mexican and Black kid in the streets of L.A. is out to get each other.

Seriously. LOL. In that video you posted the guy interviewed a black and Mexican kid that seemed to be friends. And yet, he's saying the tention is great.

I guess they have to sell them tv ad spots. You know how the knews gets you to watch, "coming up blah, blah, killed watch only at 10pm" **** is for ratings. Somtimes i can't even watch the news its either killings or about some celeb. The world is bigger then a televison that is feeding us what we think if we allow us to belive what we hear.

I've been to l.a and i don't see the **** most news talks about, because most of the killings has some meaning behind it meaning, it is drug or gang related.

Skid Row in l.a is only a few blocks away from the police station. And its heavly black populated yet, you'll see Mexicans just chilling scoping the block for knuckle heads that are ****ing up there connec/set up.
