why?? He actually fought a fighter with SKILL. An over the hill fighter who is 43! a prime B-Hop would give Calzaghe the beating of his life.

so it is safe to say Taylor wins over Calzaghe.
There were a lot of posters who predicted a Hopkins KO win and then were never seen again. Your posting style seems familiar, is this your first account?

Maybe too bad not many people see it the way we do. I've said this b4 B-Hop in his prime beats this guy easy but w/e not much I can see now Cal fans are happy with the victory of beating a 43 y/o man.

Taylor has a great jab and Calzaghe literally does nothing to overcome a good jab. He just runs in there.

Jab, Straight right hand, all night for Taylor. He avoided the ropes brilliantly against Pavlik in that rematch. No doubt he is terrible fighting off the ropes, he is no james toney, but he has become very good at avoiding them.

So in the center of the ring, i think Taylor outclasses Calzaghe with Calzaghe floundering around like a ****** for the much of the fight.

Does anybody honestly believe that Calzaghe would have beaten HOpkins if HOpkins had the legs to avoid the ropes???

I still get a chuckle when people call Calzaghe a good boxer. He is a good FIGHTER. He has very limited boxing ability, and it'll take a guy like Taylor with his quick jab to expose that.

Calzaghe-Pavlik is a much more even and close fight. Id pick Taylor by stoppage over Calzaghe in the late rounds.
Theres a good reason why BHop fought two great competitive fights and nearly KOd Taylor in one of them, and then fought like a total biatch against Calzague. Think about it. Calzague would make easy work of Taylor.

wtf are u talking about... Taylor beat a better version of Hopkins, in Hopkins's best division (middleweight) and in the 2nd fight i thought he beat him more convincingly then Calzaghe did. Not to mention, he didnt look HORRIBLE doing it like Calzaghe did

                  Either way Joe humiliates Pavlik

How was it a better version when he was killing himself to make weight? He gave away the first 4 or 5 rounds of their first fight, then took over and on the second was pretty much the same. He threw a lot more punches and combinations against Tarver, he's obviously more comfortable putting on some weight.

This point is not too relevant here, but Pavlik-Taylor II was not even close to being close. See the scorecards for proof. It was close until about the 8th round when Taylor's Stamina suffered. From then forward was all Kelly P. I just watched the fight again last night, not knowing this conversation came up at all.
