I believe that Calzaghe is using Pavlik to pressure Roy into signing at a more reasonable fee. He doesn't really want to go back to 168 again. For Calzaghe, Roy Jones is his first choice.

I still can't get over the fact RJJ must, in some way, be f**king about yet again. He was in the post Hopkins fights press conference, and said to Joe I want to reserve coming to Wales to fight you. He said to the media in an interview, I was the man then, so Joe had to come to me and get paid less. So now Joes the man, same applies, I want nothing but this fight wherever.

Joe was mentioning RJJ all the time, for it not to have become near to being sealed, RJJ simply must, to whatever extent, have messed around yet again with Joe so genuinely keen, and after all that, what a hypocrite and idiot. Sheez. Anyways I just hope ppl realise that, some people say all day, Joe wasn't chasing RJJ, now RJJ is doing far worse in chasing him, then clearly not biting when Joe's pretty much said ok. And no ones mentioning it even a bit, hmmm. Seems a bit one sided.

Anyway, I see Pavlik as an interesting fight, I'd put Joe ahead by about the same margin as RJJ, UD by a few rounds. However, I think it might be easier for Joe to get caught out in some respects. Pavlik is quite a clever fighter, his stance would deceive Joe into coming forwards more than usual, and with that reach he'll be jabbing him away, worse still landing hard and shocking Joe. Luckily Joes got a great chin but he could get a little frustrated with it, and will R's 1-3 probs, when like Hops and Kessler he eases in and adjusts to suite.

I wish Joe would study the fighters more, he can't afford to only start winning rounds post R3 when he's found a style that works.

wow u guys are crazy if u think calzaghe would school pavlik..if they fight pavlik would win by decision..but pavlik does not have the same power at 168 as he does at 160 and plus calzaghe is too old and is not the same fighter...THE ONLY FIGHTER THAT CAN DEFEAT PAVLIK IS WINKY WRIGHT!!!

he wont, and unfortunetly, roy Jones will know Calzaghe out before Pavlik ever gets the chance.

Old Faded Roy Jones or Joe Calzaghe against Pavlik make for superb fights.

Pavlik can overcome handspeed, he has shown that, it is the unorthadox styles of both guys, and the work rate of Calzaghe that would give Pavlik trouble
