Joe Calzaghe vs. Kelly Pavlik in The Works

Joe won't lose to anyone at SMW and LHW. He should beat Pavlik comfortably can't really see tarver doin much and he will bully Roy Jones. Anyone think different?

I think differently. There is no way that Joe will bully Roy. Rjj is way bigger and controls a ring. The only one that Bullied him was Johnson and that was because Roy was not confident at that time. I think Roy vs. Joe is a great matchup of speed and skill and I would be very dissappointed if the fight does'nt happen. I personally think that Roy wins that fight, maybe by KO. He counterpunches well and I think he can catch Joe.

Calzaghe should not fight Pavlik.

He'll get absolutely no credit for the win because Pavlik is white, same as with the win over Kessler. People will say Pavlik was overrated.

Joe should instead fight Jones and Dawson as his last two fights.

No, No , NO! Pavlik is highly touted right now. Whether he is white or not. He wiped out the best black middleweight in the world and beat the piss out of Miranda, who is as tough as nails. I think Joe would get great credit for that fight. However, not as much as he would beating Jones, even now. Roy will come to fight and I think that in itself makes that fight very dangerous for Joe . That may be why he is exploring other options. I think that Pavlik will be a very tough fight for Joe as well and he may get a SD if they do it.

I just thought I'd get in now, and say that whether Joe faces RJJ, Pavlik, Tarver or Dawson, or any mix of those fighters, he will beat any of them.

Everyone who has ever picked Calzaghe to lose has been wrong and I promise you none of that lot is going to change it.

This is just another business tactic to gain a negotiation edge in current ongoing deals. Roy didn't price himself out, he probably won't take the D**k that Warren and Bitter ass Calzaghe is trying to stick him with. They are trying to squeeze every dime they can from this fraudulent career of Calzaghe's. I don't understand how a man squeaks by an elderly fighter and a robot and becomes Mr. big S**t. Look, If Arum tricks him into fighting Pavlik you will see Calzaghe slap and move for 12 boring rds while Slow footed Pavlik chases after him. Not interesting! RJJ vs Zags would be an exchange of quick combos b4 Zaghe tastes his power and decides to run.

Ill thought out comment that, and biased. RJJ is the one whom has been known to only want big money fights, and charging too much compared with others. I remember Hops just winning a fight and calling him out, RJJ video interviewed live just fobbed him off with money excuses saying he deserves the most of the fee's by far.

How do you know what deal Warren or Joe would be pushing for, Joe's never been that greedy, and another big US fight would earn him plenty for him, compared to some past fights. Besides, RJJ went on tape saying the tables have turned and he has to go to the best and probably get paid less. So where does that leave your assumption, a little unfounded and subjective.

The Hopkins old man comment just underlines your bias and scepticism on Calzaghe. Hops is a top p4p, and has had some great wins post 40, drop the excuses, it's a great accomplishment to beat him in his backyard, especially when he's brawling, butting, and not a good style for Joe at all. Credit where credits due at least. Otherwise your post deserves little credit.

Both fights are tough for Joe, RJJ would be a bigger money fight, so the only logical reason for Pavlik being more mentioned now is RJJ not chasing it as much as he was. He had Calzaghe saying probably yes, he was keen, that would not suddenly stop. Pavlik is not ideal for him at all, probs less money depending on RJJ's greed,, a younger quick fighter, a weight he's struggling with, his belts and best SMW reign could be taken.

november pavlik vs calzaghe great fight could go either way but i think joe whopped mary popkins arse and im sure he would kick roy jones arse and for tarver hes not in calzaghe league and i do think he would take out pavlik with a knockout blow he would be too busy for pavlik

A b etter fight for Joe will be with RJJ. More money and more exiting fight than Pavlick right now!.As for Pavlik the real good fight would it benn with the Lazy ass Trinidad. Probably a fight of the year. Both har punchers both going straight forward.And a lot of money for both. I just thin Joe is a bad match up for pavlik at this stage of hes career.too Young.Maybe if he beats a Winky Wright and another though fighter,,gaining experice then he have a chance, but not now. Calzaghe is too good!
