Yes his the greatest Heavyweight of ATG but is it the boxer or the man we're talking about his no bum but no angel either whenever people look back at Ali they will say he great etc but 1 thing will always be raised the way he went over the top with Joe Frazier think for all his class in every way he left himself done there some will say that's how a bum behaves but im sure his sorry but the fact is this everytime Ali - Frazier comes up there will be the treatment Frazier got for helping him.

It's bizarre, I mean I've heard every single kind of argument imaginable about everything from Stanley Ketchel being the greatest middleweight of all-time because he died young to all of Eusebio Pedroza's fights being changed to NCs, but when I read here that some Ali detractors (also known as Klitschko nuthuggers) were saying that Ali was garbage, I was incensed.

Especially considering that none of the fighters they hero-worship share their sentiments.

some people will look at his fights and find an excuse. the opponent was hurt, old, too inexperienced, the victory wasnt as convincing as people would have preffered etc, but that's just talk. his record speaks for itself, very few people would have fared succesfull having faced the kind of fighters that ali stepped into the ring with.
Ali beat the hardest opponent of all time the US Government. They took 3 years away from him when he was in his prime. He left boxing on top at 26 and came back at 29 and fought 2 Top contenders and then the Undefeated Undisputed heavy Wieght Champ Joe Frazier. He carried boxing on his shoulders and promoted his own fights better than any one. His poems and his predictions were great. he gave the sport a face and charector. Ali was a Great Boxer and an ICON.....Lefty

Ali was a great fighter, but he was not the greatest fighter ever, no way.

He was the greatest Boxing personality ever though.

I wouldn't say he was the greatest fighter ever but he has an argument as the greatest heavyweight ever.
