no fighter today has a complete skill set like floyd.
ok !! Shawn you argumentative bastard... IS FLOYD A COMPLETE FIGHTER EVERYONE?

But the point at hand was Mayweather's completeness as a fighter, in particular his offensive game, which was thoroughly diplayed on the inside in the Hatton fight.Comment

Is he a complete fighter?
forget the cotto ****, the margo ****.... forget the ducking the dancing the wrestling
INSIDE THE RING... when hes in the ring.... is floyd a complete fighter
And if you dont like Floyd, thats fine... but dont let that effect your judgement on this poll...
his bread and butter is defense and working one punch at a time...
i believe floyd's only major flaw that keeps him from being a complete fighter is his ability to trade...he only seems to mount good offense against lesser competition (ie. hatton/gatti)...
against an oscar de la hoya he wasnt able to offensively take control...his defense was his best offense in that fight...
even though you said count out cotto and margarito it makes another valid point...
CAN floyd fight offensively against cotto and margarito? i dont believe so.
so i think (at least at this weight class for sure) he can't fight offense...he must rely on making fighters fight his fight; defensive; slow paced; one punch at a time; etc...
i think my opinion is fair and not biased in anyway.Comment

I say no even tho i'm a fan. He has alot of technical flaws that go unoticed because of his speed. He's at his most vulnerable when he's attacking where he usually keeps his head to high and seems to forget that the other guy can hit him. It pisses me off sometimes when he foght these bigger guys. Even tho they were bigger, with the skills the guy possesses, he could of easily stayed in the pocket and tore baldy and De la hoyas asses up. Go back and watch the de la hoya fight. When Floyd pressed forward oscar didnt know what to do. I think his power is underrated and so is his strengh thats why it irks me that he potshots sometimes.
P.S. Im watchin Hopkins vs. Echols II for the 50th time and the **** gets more dirty everytime I watch it.Comment
