I feel Calzaghe is edging it at the moment. If mayweather faces and beats cotto he will get it.

Don't make me laugh, please. Mayweather's record is by far superior to Calzagh's and you are in no position to be criticizing resumes. Could Kessler, Lacy and Hopkins(who was far past his prime and age 43) even hold a candle to Corrales(Hall of famer and unbeaten at the time 33-0) Hatton( Junior welterweight champion that was unbeaten 43-0) Boldimir(Undisputed welterweight champion at the time that had wins over Judah, Gatti and Clottey) Hernandez( Mayweather only had about 17 wins at the time and dominated Genaro and stopped him in the mid rounds. Hernandez has a win over Azuma Nelson. Mayweather stopped all of these guys. I could name a lot more but I'll stop it here to ease off of the punishment. These three fighters are all better than anyone that Calzaghe has fought. I like Calzaghe and I'm a fan of both of these fighters, but lets be serious.

The best fighters that Calzaghe defended against was Kessler and Lacy, neither was pound for pound quality fighters. Mayweather has beaten a few of pound for pound fighters and have looked better than Calzaghe while beating the better opposition. Hes a 5 division world champion and number one pound for pound. There is your answer. This is one of the most easiest, silliest and most obvious questions that was ever asked. I get frustrated at these type of threads.

proof of calslappys padded record...calzaghe has defended his title against these guys:

Bernard Hopkins - 44 yr old senior citizen who knoked his ass dwn and won the fight but calslappy got a gift decision again

Mikkel Kessler - who? another protected euro? lmaooooo

Jeff Lacy -muscle boy who already lost to sheikha and then lost to the ukrainian guy and manfredo

        contender failures:

Peter Manfredo Jr - contender failure
        Sakio Bika - contender failure

        bums/journeymen used as title defenses:

        Evans Ashira
        Kabary Salem
        Mger Mkrtchian
        Byron Mitchell
        Tocker Pudwill
        Miguel Angel Jimenez
        Charles Brewer
        Will McIntyre
Mario Veit - TKO'd dis bum in da first round and then fought him again
        Richie Woodhall
        Omar Sheika
        David Starie
        Rick Thornberry
Robin Reid - clearly lost dis fight to dis bum but still got a gift
        Juan Carlos Gimenez Ferreyra
        Branko Sobot

I agree, tha fight couldv egone either way. Lacy tried to over welm Shieka with some big wild shot but Shieka rocked Lacy , it was a good fight. But yeah that couldve gone to my boy Omar.

While Mayweather has defended his 130 lb title 9 times and is a 5 division champ at 130, 135, 140, 147 and 154 with wins over Corrales, Castillo, Hatton, Judah, De La Hoya and Hernandez.

Calzaghe has beaten 8 former world champions while Mayweather has beaten 14 former world champions.

Calzaghe has been in the P4P List for almost an year while Floyd has been in the P4P List since 2000 (8 Years) and #1 since 2005 (3 years).

Both have been world champions for 10 years and both are good fighters.
lol.. the stats go straight to floyd...

LMAO@ how you said closer than many may think and then gave those sorta lopsided stats.

Floyd. It's laughable if Calzaghe gets more than 10 votes.
