Margarito is the epitome of a True Mexican Brawler, Jim Lampley put it best in his last fight against Cintron, he said; "Margarito is a brawler with skill, he knows how to box but he chooses to fight instead" that pretty much says it all. Not everyone is blessed with Mayweather-like pure boxing skills and speed, Margarito is a seasoned boxer who has been through hell with a 15 year career, a guy who knows the sport and utilizes the tools he possesses in the ring in order to win.

He is not a flashy, speedy guy, he's just a tough son of a ***** who digs in deep and takes his opponents to a new level of pressure, beautiful inside work and horse-like work rate. Big power and guts, he's got a subpar defense but if you notice he blocks a lot of punches with his gloves, deflecting some of the shots he takes. He's also got one of the greatest chins in the biz and is a savvy fighter who finds ways to beat you.

There are many new up n' comers and established boxers that I like and enjoy to watch them fight but Margarito always stands out from the rest, his fighting style and personality appeal to me and make me root for him every time, he's my favorite boxer hands ****ing down.

this fight is great becuz you dont really know whos gonna win that is why this fight just sounds great......i wouldnt be suprised if it end early for cotto ..but then again i would becuz just as determined as tony is cotto has always showed great determenation no matter if he looked like he was losing......i dont know i want tony to win cuz he needs this fight for than any other fight in his life but i want cotto to win so he can beat the crap out of that biaaacth gayweather, and cuz miguel is great i love all his fights he is really the smartest fighter today!!hes even smarter than floyd cuz floyd can only win one way.....cotto on the other hand you never know how or what he is gonna do to win he uses diffrent skill for diffrent fighters he may go twelve with one guy but cut the fight short for another !!!he always brings his a game.......anyways that being said we have the two best welterweights in the ring with each other which is more than we can say for that ducker and dodger floyd!!!!

At first it was a hard fight to pick for me, I know Cotto has improved tons and he no longer seems like the linear fighter he was when I first heard of him. Some of his old school fans say he's always had that sort of mobility and speed, let's give them the benefit of the doubt. But after watching videos of both fighters and realizing the kind of pressure Margarito always brings into all of his fights it's going to be too much for Cotto to handle. Besides Margarito's excellent pressuring style he brings power which makes him a lethal threat.

I don't care what all the Cotto fans say but Cotto does not work well under pressure and his chin is still suspect, don't give me that bull**** that "at 147 he's gotten a better chin", you either can take a punch or not, simple as that so cut the bull****. If Margarito lands bombs on Cotto he is going down, even with Cotto's powerful body shots I see Cotto going down by Tony's shots rather than Cotto KO'ing Margarito by a left hook flush in the ribs.

Both fighters are great and I give mad props to Cotto all the time, unfortunately some of his dumbass fans instead of looking at this fight with a clear mind and good perspective they just run their mouth like punks trying to put down Margarito. I agree with my homie Addison, Cotto fans are going to be for a rude awakening.

Yup Tony is due big time, and this is the perfect opportunity to showcase the kind of fighter he really is to all the people who don't give him the respect he deserves. I also think he is hungrier at this point than Cotto, it showed at how quickly he signed for this fight and agreed to all of the things in the contract, he doesn't want Cotto to get away from him like last time. I'm sure he still regrets that loss to Williams and has shown me he came back after that fight as a much better fighter.

I agree with you, It wasn't a highway robbery, but it was definitely an unfair loss, but I give props to Williams for stepping up and outscore Tony even though all he threw were just jabs and over 50% of them just landing on Tony's gloves like you mentioned, but hey that's the past and Tony seems to have learned from his mistake and has came back stronger.
