He's better than most people think. Just because he isn't flashy or technically brilliant doesn't mean he isn't hell to fight. Even though he has been a pro for a long time he is still learning and improving. The real idiots are the ones who point to his five losses as a flaw when three of them are when he was under 18, the same age that the other top welters were fighting three rounders with headgear.

Even beyond the various fancamps who have had to belittle Margarito for whatever reasons - primarily because he was a potential opponent - there are casual fans who looked at him and saw nothing but a lumbering, slow, basic fighter that appears to be nothing special. Or so I have heard. He's quite a bit better than that in my view. Scott nailed it.

Yo Addison I don't know if you've already posted your prediction for the Cotto-Marg but what is your prediction and why. The reason I ask is because you've brought up good points regarding the fight but I haven't seen any actual prediction. Who do you think will win and why?

BETTER....Margarito is a 2 time Welterweight champion and a force in the Welterweight division...Margarito is one of the toughest fighters in boxing, he has an amazing workrate, good power, great chin and a big heart....I will not be surprised at all if Margarito knocks out Cotto.

I agree. With that chin, will and determination it makes up for his lacking in the speed and technical department.

Margarito will win by TKO if it happens. Cotto has superior mobility and that might make it possible for him to win some rounds until Margarito catches up with him, but Margarito can remove Cotto from his senses at any point. Cotto will be on his bike every second. Every second. I can absolutely guarantee that. It's a promise. 1000000%. No hate. No diss.

This is simple. Cotto doesn't like to get hit, and he doesn't like to be pressured. Margarito is going to hit him and pressure him from bell to bell. This fight is not only not going to go the distance - it's not going to last very long, at all. If Cotto can come back from ***** street 8 times or 10 times - we will see him on ***** street 8 times or 10 times.

This fight just might ruin Miguel Cotto as a fighter. The more he endures the more he's going to get hurt. The best possible case scenario for this will be like a Trinidad/Vargas, with Cotto in the role of Vargas - but like I said; it shouldn't last that long.

We here on the forum detailed conclusively that Cotto was not hurt in the late rounds against Mosley. Cotto friends and foes alike concurred on the issue. People like myself were saying a year before that fight that jumping on Cotto was the way to beat him. Shane Mosley illustrated the basic reality of it. Margarito is the worst possible style matchup for Cotto in the sport of Boxing P4P. It's a farce and a setup. A joke, and soon to be a blowout..
