The ONLY reason OSCARS JAB worked against FLOYD is because...

    HE USED IT SO RARELY!!!!

FLOYD was never expecting it. I want to see floyd lose as badly as most of the rest of us, but Oscar is not the man to do it.

If somehow someway Oscars jab works and is able to outbox floyd, Floyd can start coming forward and box coming forward, OR worst comes to worst he can make in a in-fight and outclass DLH there which he ABSOLUTELY could do. He has much better in skills then DLH does at this point.

There just isnt a scenario where DLH could win, and because of that, i think Floyd goes into the ring this time, sees his own dad in his opponents corner, comes out with something to prove and stops DLH in the late rounds with a counter right hand with a follow up

LOL it worked because Oscar's jab is A+ world class. It's the 1 thing where Floyd 's A+ world class defense had problems with.

It also helped Oscar that Floyd didn't throw a single overhand right counterpunch for the entire match.

          Wrong, wrong, wrong.

Oscars jab worked against Floyd because Oscar has the best jab in the business. There is nothing you can do to prepare for Oscars jab. You will not find a sparing partner with a jab like his, you will not find a drill for dealing with a jab like his.

Couple that with the fact that Floyds weakest defense is against the jab, and you have a formula for a jab oriented fight.

I think most of the reason the Jab was no used as much has to do with Freddy Roach. I think Roach basically trained Oscar to go in there and rough Floyd up.

Oscar has never and will never be that kind of a fighter. He likes to stay on his toes, pick his spots, work his jab, and flurry.

No offense to Freddie Roach, but it is quite obvious why PacMan has failed to develop as a boxer.

Oscar's jab is quite simply, a bazooka. Even if you catch it, you will feel it. He Jabs you in the shoulder, you will fall off balance.

Trying to counter over Oscars jab is a bad idea. You do that once, and I guarantee that next time, Oscar doubles the jab.

Winky Wright did when he fought Ike Quartey.

I do agree about turning Oscar into a pressure fighter being the wrong strategy.

I don't even think pressure is the trick to beating Floyd, I think it is going to be a technical fighter who uses his skills to outpoint Floyd. That's why Cotto has a good chance, because his jab is very good.

How can you ever say throwing an effective counterpunch is a bad idea?

Just as soon as Oscar is able to make an adjustment, a counter adjustment can be made to work against that.

It also might have made him a little more cautious to throw the jab if he did catch a big counter off of it.

Oscar's jab is also ALWAYS effective because of how good his left hook is. Most opponents are concerning themselves with his left hook, the problem is, that leaves you open to his equally effective jab.
