before the fight a lot of boxing pundits were saying dlh should be able to
take the much smaller featherfisted forbes out and make it a showcase for mayweatherII.
according to some posters dlh succeeded without a tko.Comment

Im not one of them..Oscar cannot beat Floyd Maywqeather Jr.Comment

MAyweather makes you fade by making you chase him and fight at his pace in spots. Looks like Oscar and Flo sr have recognized this and adjusted. It should help Oscar. Floyd wont do much different cause against a guy like DLH he can't. Too much power for him to try to apply pressure against. Floyd is a opportunist. He waits and watches for you to slow down and then starts throwin punches he knows he can beat you with. If Oscar can stick the jab all night, not get ****** and get a little lucky with a rusty Mayweather he has a legit shot.Comment

1. Who said Oscar would have to use his legs to fight mayweather? he cant sit and wait and allow mayweather to come to him and attempt to simply counter floyd's punches? is that impossible? of course not; and for all you and i know floyd sr could make that the gameplan (to counter floyd's speed with timing)1. Oscar will fade down the stretch just like last time aginst Mayweather...why you ask??...because unlike tonight Forbes wont be standing in front of ODH like a statue....Oscar will have to use his legs to keep up with Floyd and he will get tired just like last time.
2. Im sure when Mayweather Sr. created his style he didnt think of a way to beat it as well...hes lying....he has no answers for Jr....Him and Floyd are so seperate its just like hes another trainer he knows nothing about beating Jr.
3. Floyd is the best fighter in thwe world..he was Decemeber 8th, 2007 and he is today May 4th, 2008..your'e right nothings changed
4. Love or hate Floyd...the man is probly working out and training as we speak..hes a freak of nature whos addicted to training.
5. Floyd is the best fighter on the planet he doesnt need tune up fights...and from what I read and hear his camps always go smooth because Floyd is a tireless worker....Floyd loves money...Boxing brings Floyd money..you bet your ass Floyds plans on keeping it that way...he'll never slack up in his traning.
6. Floyd is 30..and he is relatively young...hes never been knocked down...never been in a war...never been rocked more then once...hes relatively young in the ring..his hands are another issue.
7. Floyd doesnt jab...and doesnt needs to....His lead right and leaping left hook is his jab.
8. Oscar was getting beat to the punch tonight by Forbes..so you can only imagine what Mayweather will do.
9. Oscar at 36 is not the guy to beat Mayweather..he CANT do it.
2. For every style or gameplan there is a counterpart style or gameplan to defeat that certain style...there is no one stlye/gameplan that is the be all/end all to win fights that makes you unbeatable...EVERY boxer can be beat...just because floyd hasnt been beat YET doesnt mean he cant EVER be beat; everyone said the same about the mike tyson's and ali's etc. etc. etc. but at some point someone came along and found the answer.
and floyd sr DOES KNOW jr because he was floyd's first trainer VERY EARLY in his career.
3. he was the best on december 8th of 07; is right now but who is to say he will remain the best after september 20th? you dont know just as i dont know...
4. yes he is addicted to training; i agree.
5. anyone can benefit from a tune-up fight; even floyd. and floyd gets tired; EVERY fighter gets tired; floyd is no different; dont let him fool you; he gets tired. and just because he loves money doesnt mean he can control staying undefeated...he CAN be defeated no matter how much he loves money; plain and simple.
6. i agree.
7. floyd may not need to jab YET; however the fight will come where he continues with the lead rights and lead left hooks and gets beaten to the punch...his reflexes wont be as quick and hand/foot speed wont be as quick as the other guy. im not saying they will go out completely but there will be someone either FASTER or countering him...plain and simple...he cant rely on speed forever...
8. he can floyd sr can work on it; its called timing and defense
9. well he ALMOST did it last time and if you were to look closely you'd realize no one has fought floyd closer than oscar.Comment

a LOT of people (even experts in the sport) swear by the idea that you have to pressure mayweather endlessly to beat him and its not the case...
if you dont pursue him he has to pursue you...
that will save oscar his energy and give him more oppertunites to counter floyd or stick and move when floyd makes his move.
it also allows for more force behind the punches as it would allow oscar to plant his feet before the punches...Comment

I personally think Oscar had the look of guy who was surprised that he didnt KO his opponent and that he got a lot harder fight than he expected tonight. Forbes was prepared and he looked real fast and sharp in spots.exactly.
