    Ultimately, I say no.

I mean ****, he'll have his moments in the fight. But in the end I think he'll have seen too much and it'll catch up.

i think a lot of people fight cotto very ******ly...so maybe margarito wont even test that....

everyone lets cotto get away with his little slow turn away dance....he squares his feet up a lot when he does that...which could be exploited if anyone just jumped on him....but i guess they are weary of his power...because cotto doesnt care about guards or protecting cups when he can just get you clean in the back or a little low...that or people just underestimate him...which i think has been the big mistake cotto's last 2 opponents made...

Thats true! Poster need to straight their facts. Cotto has just been down once, by Torres in a pulldown . He has been hit a couple of times do. Still Margo can knock him down but it will very hard cuz Cotto will be too slick , too quick and too smart for Margo to knock him down

Looke how he outboxed those guys. People only talked about his brutal attack to the body and his power and stuff, but watch those fights and you will see how good he is at boxing, he likes to brawl and fight toe to toe but he is very good at boxing as well!
I said world class. ENOUGH with turning every ****ing guy Cotto fought into some kind of name. Sheesh.

Malignaggi kept jumping on Cotto when he would do that and it served him well. If Malignaggi had the slightest bit of firepower that would have been a very different fight - but of course that's why Malignaggi was in with Cotto at that point. Paulie Malignaggi fought Cotto virtually correctly, possibly the only guy to do so thus far.

I'm sorta undecided. He has a great will and no die attitude, but how well he does against true pressure fighter remains to be seen. Against Mosley, those last few rounds he took off will cost him dearly against a punching machine in Margarito. The guy holds records for throwing the most punches in a fight, right? How the hell can Cotto keep up with that unless he wears Margarito down early, or gets respect from Margarito. Respect is something I don't think Margarito gives to ANYONE. He's gonna keep coming forward throwing bombs. Definitely a tough fight for Cotto and I'm thinking Margarito has lesser skills than Cotto, but those few he does have, are so much greater.

That's excellent insight and refreshing objectivity, EL. I know you're a frequent Cotto supporter. Regarding this great disparity in skills; what exactly are you referring to?

                    i've decided...
marg puts on constant pressure.. but i think cotto will prevail.. he needs to watch the way clottey was fighting marg be4 the fifth when he broke his hand.. clottey has a better defense, but cottos is somewhat similiar..

i say cotto wins a UD.. ina really exciting matchup..

Interesting, I say there is absolutely no possible way Cotto can explode forward with lead hooks and split second hookercuts the way that Clottey did against Margarito. Not in a million years.
