I think like this. Floyd is OBVIOUSLY a fantastic fighter...the best today. People can say what they want but in my opinion when he is motivated etc he hasnt really shown a way in which Cotto or any of those other guys can actually beat him. Its true that he has realized more and more that boxing is a business and he plans things according to that way of thinking it seems...but if you watch him in the ring and you watch Cotto, Margarito, etc..those guys are very very very solid fighters but I dont think an UNBIASED observer would really believe they would beat him. I THINK WITH MANY FANS IT COMES ACROSS AS WISHFUL THINKING AS MUCH AS ANYTIHNG

On the other side of the coin, I dont think anything Ellerbee says means very much. I am not exactly sure why they put in headlines when he decides to say something about the boxing aspect of the game. People have their area of expertise in the game and I think the media should let them focus on what theirs is... Ellerbee isnt a boxer or a trainer so him saying something derogatory about a potential opponent of Floyd's come across, in my view, as something equal to your friend at work saying the same thing.

I dont know. Does he? What makes you say that? There are several posters right here on this board who seem to have as much or more, MUCH more in some cases, than the average fan. But, in any event, there is certainly a line I believe that many guys involved with boxers seem to cross on more than a few occassions. Ellerbee once called Hatton "a joke of a fighter." It just strikes me as kind of funny when these guys talk like that about the guys who fight the battles and make it possible for them to even have a job. Its like when Crocodile used to go to press copnferences trying to intimidate Tyson's opponents. I mean, he tried it with Holyfield. EVANDER Holyfield had to put up with this non fighting clown trash talking and evil eyeing him on a regular basis....and why, and for what? Because Crocodile knew Tyson? It takes more than that in my book to degrade the fighters in a way that is more personal than actual critiquing a guy.
