He didn't say he should retire. All he said is it isn't fair that he wins a belt and seems to have been given it for keeps. P4P#1 or not, titles are to be defended. What he actually said was if he has no interest in defending it then he should either retire or vacate, leaving the belt for somebody to whom it actually means something more than $ signs.

He made a very vague statement on behalf of the entire board. I don't know if the statement was intentionally vague. Based on his posts later in the thread it seems that it was.

But the fact is even if the WBC and every single writer, fan and pundit were to strip him of his belts and P4P #1 ranking PBF would still hold the linear 147 lb title. You don't lose those until you lose in the ring. That's why there is no heavyweight champion. Lennox Lewis retired and the lineage retired right along with him.

So, if WelterSkelter were to get his way and shame Mayweather into retirement because of some perceived lack of courage or what have you then we'd have a vacant title. But let's say two years from now Mayweather finally grew the courage to fight either Cotto or Margarito, Mayweather would still hold the lineage as a result of having never lost in the ring. This has happened countless times historically. That's all I'm saying.

But you folks, however, seem to think there's something wrong with what I'm saying. So, I'm saying you don't speak on behalf of me because your ignorance does not accurately reflect my position on the issue. Next time you make that statement...OWN IT. Don't speak on behalf of the board.

Look at the title of your thread. Did you do that yet? Ok, now give it a minute to process in your brain. Now, think. Do you do that yet? Now, when you write. "BoxingScene Forums..." then proceed with your post you are making a statement on behalf of everyone in the forum.

If you had anything resembling at least average sized man balls you'd make the statement on your own behalf instead of trying to pass your opinion off as something everyone else believes.

Men make controversial statements in front of everyone and don't give two ****s what anyone thinks because it's their own opinion. So, next time man up and make your own statements like a man. LOL...whatever man. I don't associate myself with people who whine and complain because they don't like the choice of opponents that a fighter has. If 30-40% of the board didn't b!tch and moan about every fight that's discussed (I'm not even talking about fights that are signed, just discussed) then I promise you most of the people talking on this post wouldn't have even posted. I know I wouldn't.
