    Calzaghe vs Pavlik

I don't know if it has been done before, but I have to see this.
Personally I say Pavlik by tko/ko... Pavlik is too tough and too strong.
They both are very active fighters. They both like to fight toe 2 toe. But really... Joe's exposed chin action will get him KTFO period.

Joe would be knocked out.He doesnt have great defence and would be eating that jab for a couple of rounds. He threw a million shots against Lacy and couldnt hurt him,I cant see how he could hurt Kelly.Besides Joe leaves himself open as he throws his slaps from the side.

Kelly's jab is deadly and he has improved greatly. His workrate would be enough to keep Joe very busy

That's my point exactly... He did however hurt lacy.. he just couldn't finish him. I can't see how in the world joe's slaps could hurt kelly and joe does leave himself very exposed when he engages

        In addition to that
No disrespect but not too many boxers close their eyes the way Calzaghe does when he punches.

Kelly would eat this guy for breakfast.

Everybody has made good posts as to why Pavlik would beat Joe, and as nice as is to see informed posters making good points, I have to disagree. Joe can load up on any given punch in a combination without warning. This unpredictability alone is enough to reduce Kelly's workrate somewhat, plus Joe is a wonderful counterpuncher. Joe will come forward and push Kelly back with his physical strength (it doesn't show in his punches, but Calzaghe is most definitely the stronger man). Pavlik would more than likely struggle to get off while going backwards, and would not be able to generate so much power in his punches. Joe also has one of the best chins in boxing today, don't be fooled by the Hopkins fight. Joe has stood up to people who punch easily as hard as Pavlik and emerged unscathed. Eubank landed some hard shots, as did Kessler and even Lacy landed one or two good shots that would have hurt lesser fighters. Kelly might be able to match Joe's workrate for the first half of the fight, but how many times has he worked at Joe's pace for the whole 12 rounds? I don't care how fit you are if you haven't had the rounds before you will struggle at the pace that Joe can sustain. I would say Joe gets the stoppage in the late rounds, but I'm not sure, so I got Joe by decision on this one.

I can respect your opinion on that... I disagree but i can respect it.
I don't think Joe is stronger, I believe Joe, after feeling Kelly's power will not be as active. Kelly DOES NOT go backwards. And i don't get how everyone say joe as a granite chin. I don't get it. He's been knocked down numerous times and to his credit he came back to win those fights. I agree that joe is TOUGH but a granite chin... naw. One of these days he's goin to get knocked down and will not be able to spring back into action like he always does...

yeah like against Kessler, who's jab is by far superior to Pavlik's.
