IMO, the best example of Joe Louis at his utmost destructiveness would be the kayo of Max Baer.

If he still looks "slow" after viewing that....then I need to go to the optomotrist....or however you spell it.

Thanks for posting. That Shavers right hand was brutal.

I still think Mike hit harder, he combined the speed and power and that tends to make a punch even more explosive. The right hand he took Botha out with would've destroyed the Pentagon.

As I said though, gotta see more Earnie, I've also heard that quote Ali made about his power

You, my friend, are too kind.

I'll be back in full force, before long....God willing. Untill then, I'll see y'all about once or twice a week on my off days.

Speaking of which, I've got about 13 more minutes....so, before I run out of time....for anyone who cares. Great to be back and see ya next week.

Why did you only look at one part of my post?

speed + mass = power ... mike had both over joe

Valuevs lack of speed is the reason he is very beatable.

                  Okay, I gotcha.

Well, to me....it's close. Mike might have been a little faster; but it's a toss-up to me as to who had more "pop".

I was using Valuev as an extreme example.

True that "speed" + "mass" = Power; but there's also punching technique....of which both were very good; and the unknown factor. Some guys are just heavy handed naturally.

My opionion is just based on what I've seen of both......and Mike's tomato cans didn't have the chins of some of Joe's opponents. So, there is some debate....for me, at least....as to who hit harder.
