Good question... everybody keeps saying it's going to be a war.. But if it is Cotto will lose.. Cotto is the much better boxer.. and has serious hurt on his punches.. But Margarito is a different animal.. If Cotto doesn't fight his smartest fight.. Marg will beat him..

I honestly think Cotto should and will be the fav. Thing is Cotto usually walks through guys. I dont think he can do that to Marg..he has shown he can box though. Marg cant really box so he really doesnt have a plan B..

I agree, if Cotto gets all macho and makes the mistake of going toe to toe with Margarito he will get knocked out, I can't see Cotto's chin holding up if he goes to war and it becomes a slugfest.

Cotto needs to fight a smart fight, he is definitely capable of outclassing Margarito with his boxing ability and skills....I'm thinking Cotto UD or Margarito late TKO, it's a tough chioce for me.

I dont really think this will be a close fight honestly, I think Cotto has the perfect style to lose to Tony, but in contrast Tony has the perfect style to lose to Cotto, it depends on who sets the pace of the fight, if its Tony which I assume he will jump on Cotto from the start then Tony knocks him out early.
if Cotto can keep the pace slow and place his shots as he has done in recent fights, Margarito will get punished over 12 rounds. but I cant help to look at both styles and think that Cotto is wide open for uppercuts and Margarito loves to throw that shot.
My prediction Margarito TKO in 5

If Cotto stops Margarito, he is the man to beat and Mayweather no longer can carry his weight around thing he's the ****(without facing either of these guys or soley the winner) personally i would have liked to see Mayweather fight both guys, Margarito the long time avoided fighter for many years now at welterweight, and the young gun Cotto. But sadly they have to face off and whoever wins imo will beat Mayweather. Im rooting for Margarito but should be an interesting fight Margarito imo kills himself to make weight and i think after this fight if he loses he should fight at jr. middlweight and go after Vernon Forest a fighter he can beat or after the other jr. middleweights. I think Margarito can also become a champion at 154, i don't see many fighters that would trouble Margarito there.

Ok, he didn't look great against Clottey & lost against Williams but I think he's DEFINTELY ELITE in the WW division! There are fighters with more skill than him, (Mosley, Judah, Quintana etc) but looking at the most recent accomplishments you HAVE to put Margarito up there...
