I think joe calzaghe will beat jones NOW (since jones is out of his prime) but a prime calzaghe v. a prime roy jones jr wouldnt be as interesting or close.

Roy Jones would probably beat up on him (maybe not knock him out) but he's definately show he's the better fighter by say UD.

Im pulling for Jones this time around but if i had to bet money i'd have to go with calzaghe.

Roy Jones only tested positive for steroids once I believe. James Toney tested postive twice and both times he was out of shape. No steroids vs Holyfield or Dominick Guinn or Hasim Rahman or Samuel Peter - one of the two fights which he was competitive in. Roy DID NOT take any steroids when he moved up to heavyweight.

Stop making excuses for their greatness. Joe is a fairy prancing ***** who knew his limits and decided to take the easy path to greatness milking his WBO title safely at home for a decade. He is nowhere near Roy in greatness.....can't even touch him.

Steroids may impact or not impact a fight at all. But either way it's just for one fight. If someone tested positive for steroids in one fights and tests clean for another fight several montha later, then the steroids don't make a differencet in that fight now do they??? You can't keep claiming the steroids contributed to every victory now can ya?? Wouldn't be fair now would it??

He doesn't care about all of that. His story is, Roy tested for steroids once and therefore his whole success during his career is nothing and steroids contibuted to his victory in every fight which is isn't true at all.

What I'm not clear about is the legal status of the steroids Jones and Toney took, and whether they were banned in boxing or not.

If they were legally allowed then there is no basis for punishing Jones or Toney even if they acted immorally. If the steroids were banned in boxing, then each should have served a minimum two year ban. (IMO).

Banned or not, I'm quite sure there were other steroids that were banned, and a fighter willing to take a technically legal version of a banned substance is certainly on dubious moral ground. I don't accept excuses of any kind from athletes on this matter. To listen to them all you'd think every incidence of drug misuse in the history of sport was inadvertent. Athletes are responsible for what goes into their bodies.

it would be like you right now... taking supplements you bought at gnc to help your workouts and get in shape for a fight.... 5 yrs later they ban the substance you used and try to say you cheated.... which is bull****, and also the reason, they didnt do anything about it... it was completely LEGAL, when it was in his system... he never used it again... all his tests came back negative before and after the richard hall fight.. and that includes the HW fight.
