Could he beat a HW champ? By UD, definitely someone like Sam Peter or another out of shape slugger, his speed would be enough. Could he beat a prime RJJ? No, definitely not.
So... Could Joe Calzaghe Ever Claim a Heavyweight Title?

As you will see from my previous post, I did in fact both care and read the post.
If the substance Roy took was legal then there's no defensible reason for banning him.
Any boxer who does take a banned substance should be banned in my opinion for life, but at least for two years. You shouldn't be allowed to cheat in a sport as dangerous as boxing.
If Roy did not take a banned substance then his career and achievements are exactly what they appear to be, incredible. If he had taken it, then they wouldn't be.

I've said on numerous occasions that I think Calzaghe could beat Jones, I don't honestly think that way, it's just to piss off some of his haters. Prime 4 Prime, Jones beats Calzaghe by around 116-112.
I think Calzaghe has still got a chance though, his work rate is his biggest gift, I think he has a better work rate than a Prime Jones even.Comment

I'm not sure if Peter hits harder than Ruiz, have lost a lot of interest in heavyweights, but Joe's chin is/was/always will be better than Roy's.Comment

then again the only time he ever fought above SMW, he got knocked down, by a 43yr old, who isnt known for his knockouts... sam peter would most likely knock john ruizs head, clean off.. mortal kombat style.Comment

He tested positive once. If he didn't test positive again, why would his whole career be diminished. LOL. That's quite backwards. The same test that found him positive one time also found him negative 55 other times. As you will see from my previous post, I did in fact both care and read the post.

Because, if you are found to have a banned substance in your blood (which it transpires Jones did not) then you have been found to be willing to cheat by using banned substances, and presumably you would do so again, perhaps with something a little more undetectable next time. The question mark is always there.
For me testing positive once is enough (I reiterate, the substance Jones took was not banned) to merit a lifetime ban. Doping undermines the entire premise of athletic competition, and in boxing I think is even dangerous.
