maybe in his prime hes got a slim chance to beat john ruiz
    but unlike roy defensive style
calzaghe style its not good to use against men that outweight him by 40 pounds

With that said, this thread is a bit off. I mean, Glen Johnson, Montell Griffin and Antonio Tarver probably couldn't win at heavy either but all three have a W over Jones.
Ok first of all... Montell Griffin?

Second, what difference does that make? Im comparing the abilities of the fighters in their prime.

No, he couldn't. His style wouldn't be suited for heavyweight.

          Joe relies on physical strength.

obviously Joe has alot of strings to his bow but if your putting him in their with a big lad who likes to hold Joe is going to have a very very hard time in there.

If Joe took one 10th of the steroids that Roy Jones has taken, who knows? You really think Toney could have been a competitive HW without steroids?

When the heavyweight division was weaker a few years ago, he might have.

He would have had a good chance against the likes of Byrd, Briggs, Lyakhovich, Maskaev, or Ruiz.

Calzaghe might have a chance against Peter - the fight could look a lot like Calzaghe vs. Lacy. But he would not defeat Wladimir or Chagaev.
