If I was Roy I'd just take like 30-70 and shut up...

Yeah it's 2008 and the sad part is Roy can still beat a fighter like Calzaghe.

Roy would never take less than 50-50.

How would you cope? We both know that Jones is past his prime...but Tyson was past his best when he faced Leiws and that didnt stop people claiming that Lewis scored a legitimate victory over Tyson and that his legacy shall be remembered for the better because of it.

        This is hard for you.
But that doesn't make them right. Furthermore, I'd add that it's everything ELSE that Lennox did that cemented his legacy. The guy held titles from 1992 onward and beat nearly every HW out within that span. That's what made Lennox who he is.

In that same regard, Jones' legacy is secure. How did Sugar Ray Leonard look at 35? And he is a top ten fighter. Jones won titles from 160 to heavyweight, unified the LHW crown at 30 and then proceeded to make 11 defenses of that unified title. Also beat James Toney at the peak of his powers. Went years without losing a round.

His legacy doesn't need it like Ali didn't really need Foreman. But a win takes him to mythic heights.

This is an uninformed post. Boxing is a business - a very "what have you done for me lately" business.

Prior to the Hopkins-Calzaghe signing, Square Ring offered - on several occasions - a bout between Jones and Joe C. in Cardiff where Roy would take a 40-60 split. Pretty sweet but Warren turned it down (and rightfully so, I think) for a bout against Hopkins. A win over a faded Jones wouldn't count for much and no one knew if he was still a draw.

But 500k PPV's at the Garden show that Jones is still the biggest draw in and around his division. Part of that is due to Tito but hey, you think Jones-Hopkins or Jones-Calzaghe is on regular HBO? NEVER.

Jones will take the short end but concessions will have to be made on both sides (Vegas?). Here's to hoping it gets done soon.

              Calzaghe did the same.

I remember when an offer was made to Roy to fight Calzaghe a while back. He turned it down, claiming not enough money, yet he went on to fight for less money than the offer was for. All of a sudden, Calzaghe is the name, and Roy wants the fight. My advice to Joe: Pay him the same respect he paid you and tell him to go **** himself, the Pavlik fight is bigger anyway.

See, that's what i don't understand. Be gets to be top 5 in allot of people's minds for beating a 43 year old version of Bernard Hopkins after being dropped on the first. I mean wtf? I can't think of any other reason than being white for it to be so. Think about it.

Casamayor beat an undefeated young fighter against all odds in a thrilling fight ending in a TKO stoppage. Was he even mentioned to be top 5 p4p? No.
Nate Campbell has done the same thing only by decision and also against all odds and was forgotten about the day after the fight!

This is why i consider Calzaghe and specially his fans, an insult to boxing.

But Katsidis and Diaz were largely untested, Hopkins was proven over more than a decade. Calzaghe beat one of the best defensive fighters in the world, who cares if he looks like **** doing so. If you want to play the race card I ask you this: Although Calzaghe looked bad in the Hopkins fight, Mayweather looks worse in almost all of his fights, yet he is still P4P. Is this because he is black or because he is a good boxer? Race has nothing to do with it, take your bigoted opinions elsewhere, you are nothing but scum.
