anyway, this is just another thread ill bump when a Floyd fan says, "everyone thought so and so was supposed to beat Floyd". more proof that Floyd fans are a bunch of liars.
2501 the thing is someone will bring a new name up and say floyd was ducking this guy if he beats cotto, it never ends man. And they will use this thread to back it up that "floyd was supposed to beat him so im not impressed" well he is "supposed" to beat everyone in his division but people will never give him the props he deserves until he eventually retires. Look back at my threads on how I have always, ALWAYS said cotto is a great fighter, I also picked him to beat Trinidad a few years ago when Cotto had only 1 fight at Welterweight. I just dont think he can beat Floyd, Stylistically this is floyd's fight. I've looked at his fights with Gomez and Mosley and I honestly dont think this matchup is good for him, ofcourse everyone wants to see this fight and it should happen, I just think after watching their last two fights (Both cotto and floyd) that Floyd will win an easy decision (117-111).

As much as it seems to be true that there is always someone else... I really don't think so at this point.

I can't imagine that at any time of Floyd's career, there has ever been one guy that is so unanimously deserving of the fight with Floyd over anyone else.

There were a ton of guys that Floyd could have fought at 135, but it turned out that Corrales and Castillo did the best at 135, so there wasn't one guy that was the most deserving at that weight. 140 had one single guy in Tszyu, and then Hatton, but there were challenges at 147 in Judah that would be at least somewhat comparative. Also, he ended up taking care of that loose end later. At 147, while people said "Quit ducking Margarito!", Margarito only had one belt, and wasn't considered the linear champion.

But right now, Cotto and Mayweather hold wins over fighters, that hold wins over other fighters, etc. so that all the top fighters in the decision have lost to either those two, or someone that those two beat. There really is no other option for Mayweather right now.

I can't even imagine who would be the new guy that Floyd is ducking if he beats Cotto. After all, Margarito would have been beaten by Cotto...

Oscar will defeat Floyd Mayweather this time

No way Mayweather will win this coming fight. Oscar will win this time for sure. when Oscar face Miguel Cotto on december. he will be 2:0 Forbes and Mayweather. the only defeat oscar will receive will be with Cotto. but at least he will know that he defeat Mayweather, and he will be at ease. Thrust me this one.

I just hope Cotto doesn't lose to Margarito...it will **** the fight with Floyd big time

I hope he is 34-0 when he faces Floyd and by that time his wins will be over:

          Margarito
          Mosley
          Judah
          Clottey
          Quintana
          Malignaggi
          Torres

so no one can dispute that Cotto was truly a great fighter after floyd beats him. they usually degrade the opponent after the opponent gets beat not realising that this could be done for any single fighter in the world, hell just give me a fighter name and i can easily degrade by looking at his record at boxrec and finding flaws lol, this is what usually happens here on boxingscene.

the thing is that its a small MINORITY who says this which doesnt really mean ****. its not even worth discussing. Who said Floyd was ducking Baldomir? Who said Floyd was ducking DLH? Who said Floyd was ducking Hatton? No one, thats because Floyd actively pursued those fights. Floyd fanatics keeps saying that a new name is brought up, he beats him and then its someone else. WHERE!? Floyd hasnt been fighting who the fans are asking for him to fight. He hasnt fought Mosley, he hasnt fought Margarito and he hasnt fought Cotto. Thats who the fans keep saying he is ducking. Now I'm not saying he ducked them, that isnt the point of my post, but Floyd fanatics, not you, but his fanatics ALWAYS ALWAYS say ****** **** like,

"Everyone thought Baldomir/DLH/Hatton was gonna KO Floyd but he proved the haters wrong lolol!!!"

"Everyone was saying Floyd was ducking Baldomir/DLH/Hatton but he beat them and now its someone else lololol!!!"

Why? No one cared for Baldomir, DLH was all HYPE and even then Floyd was STILL the favorite in the fight, no one was even thinkin bout Hatton untill Hatton opened his mouth and it was mostly BRITISH fans making the noise.

Now this "someone" that you talk about, this "someone" arent just people on this forum or other forums, but Boxing Writers, Boxing Analysts and Boxing FANS. THIS is the fight the world wants. The demand from the PUBLIC for this fight is 100 X that of against Baldomir, De La Hoya and Hatton. The large PPV buys arent a product of demand rather than promotion and hype. ANYONE with any common sense or even a HINT of Marketing knowledge knows this. Was Floyd HARRASED 24/7 about Baldomir, DLH, Hatton like he is about Cotto? Was Floyd asked about these dudes EVERYWHERE he went asking if he was going to fight them? Of course not (but im sure a Floyd fanatic is gonna reply that the world WAS demanding those fights, it never fails). There is NO ONE ELSE for Floyd to fight LOGICALLY unless he is willing to **** with Mosley, but aint no one even demanding that anymore.

Ok fair enough. If someone does that though after the Cotto fight you can Mayweather's lawyer and defend him on that.

                    ^^^^^

I will say that quite a few people did talk about Floyd ducking Hatton before the fight, still discussing it from 2005. One of those loose ends from a previous division.

And I do think that people would ***** about Floyd not fighting Baldomir had he fought Margarito. I mean, Baldomir had beaten Judah and Gatti and was the lineal champion. Clearly he had at least some case to get the fight. Just as much as Margarito I would say. It's not like Margarito had been knocking the top names off right and left. He had beaten Cintron, and that is it.
