Mayweather tends to be more aggressive against lefties, and therefore more hittable.Mcgirt and Roger were good, but no Floyd Mayweather. Looking back at Mayweather's stay at 135 it's fair to say that knocking out JLC who has only been of his feet once in about 60 fights was nearly impossible, so to say he was not carrying his power is to discredit Castillos durability (and mayweather's gameplan in those fights). There were certain fighters Pernell engaged but for the most part they weren't elite fighters with pop or stylistically as hard to hit as floyd, that wasn't his game anyway. That's why I think it's a dry fight. But one i would have LOVED to see.
Against Corley, Mayweather was more aggressive, and got hit more, and even got rocked as a consequence early in round 4.
Against Mitchell, Mayweather was the least of aggressive of his bouts versus lefties, but still came forward and attacked and dropped Mitchell a couple times, even taking a nice left hand late in the 2nd round (I think).
Against Judah, Mayweather was taking some nice shots early on, but adjusted, and spent the majority of the bout coming forward and pressuring Judah, and basically beating him up until Zab almost turned him into a girl.
McGirt and Roger weren't as good as Floyd, but they hit harder. Whitaker had no problem trading with them. Even against Chavez, although Pea spent the majority of it circling or on the backfoot, he still managed to rock JCC in round 8 with a left, bull Chavez into the ropes a few times with his shoulder, fight him on the inside, etc....
Whitaker was slick, but rarely a runner or a stink-out-the-joint type fighter like Cory Spinks or Zahir Raheem. He had a high workrate and winged hooks to the body a lot. It was just that it was only his straight left upstairs that carried a wallop.Comment

Not to beat the same drum but I think it's very relevant, those lefties were NO Pernell Whitaker. I think that the respect for each other's ability in that ring would be overpowering and would create a low contact fight. It could still be interesting ass hell though. I just can't picture them waging war or even consistently engaging, this is a top of the line chess match if i ever saw one, at least to me.Mayweather tends to be more aggressive against lefties, and therefore more hittable.

Alright, cool. My beef is not with your analysis of the fight but more with people (not saying you) that have no knowledge of a fighter or his style then post nonsense. Not to beat the same drum but I think it's very relevant, those lefties were NO Pernell Whitaker. Examples:
"Whitaker had no offense and just ran"
"Cotto is starting to box now, he never did that before!"
"Chavez had no skills, just pressure"
"Mayweather always runs and never exchanges"
"Marvin Hagler was a face-first pressuring brawler"
Sometimes I just get bored and have sarcastic, obnoxious posts, to get a response, which I did.Comment
