i like both fighter alot. i couldn't care less if either was noted as the best ever from across the pond, but i am hard pressed to say joe ducked anyone. he cleaned out most of the guys at smw. if kessler could not beat him i don't see anyone else at 68 doing it. at 75 i think he may have problems with a tarver, or dawson. i feel joe is not well suited for 75 as 68. at 68, aside roy he is the best i have ever seen. instead of all the bashing he recieves some of the haters should really sit back and enjoy the end of a very good fighters career.

Joe Calzaghe, if you look at it fairly and without prejudice, is a greater fighter than Lennox Lewis.
Calzaghe fought in a weak division whereas in Heavyweights they are so big and strong that anyone can win if they connect with a hard lucky punch. Lennox Lewis was a HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION! He couldn't move to cruiserweight and he couldn't move up. He was a huge Mofo naturally. Fought around 250 that's swoll patrol. It was funny on HBO before the fight started when they showed Calzaghe's notable wins is was Kessler, Lacy, and Peter "the contender" Manfredo. This will make no sense to you, but you remind me of Kansas City Royals fans who are just certain that the franchise has a better history than the STL cardinals and will come up with some whack ****e to back it up.

Clottey, Cintron, Williams and is fighting Cotto next while the overprotected stay-at-home joe is thanking the judges for giving him a gift decision against a fighter who is well past his best days.
I wanted to see where he trained when I went to Tiajuana last year but the town is so sketch I didn't want to stray far from the border. One thing you will never hear is complaints about Mexican fighters slapping like bitches or ducking, I'm sure there is one or two but I can't think of them. Mexican boxers are f'ing soldiers.

What they meant was wins over currently well-known fighters in the US. Calzaghe only fought Manfredo because HBO wanted him too.

Better wins for Joe than Manfredo:

            *Eubank, age 31 wide decision
            *Mitchell, age 28 TKO 2
Sheika (coming off a win over Glen Johnson) TKO 5
            *Woodhall
            *Reid

            *had held a world title

Because Lewis was champ, and he wasn't white, it was good - now that Wlad is the best, it is ****ty.

And super middleweight must be ****ty since Calzaghe is white.

That SEEMS TO BE YOUR LOGIC, but I don't agree with it because it is racist.
Your doing bad with your logic when you play the race card. If anything white fighters get more publicity and following. Ever heard of the "Great White Hope"? Next your gonna tell me Barry Bonds can't get a DH job because he's black.

I just sick of finding so much hate here and on ESB every time a white fighter wins: Pavlik and Wlad in Feb, and Calzaghe now.

I wish people would stop being racist and give respect to whom it's deserved, regardless of whether the fighter's black or white.

                  LOL

That's bull****. I don't remember him fighting Mayweather, Mayorga, Winky, Vargas, Mosley, Judah, Forrest, Tszyu or de la Hoya.

What's that? He offered to Floyd a career best payday and Floyd still ducked him? It doesn't matter. Calzaghe is criticised for not fighting Hopkins, even though Calzaghe offered him big money 5 years ago and Hopkins instead fought a lesser fighter for less money.

You might say that some of those fighters fought in divisions above Tony. So what? According to people like you, Calzaghe was a SMW, therefore he should fight at LHW. You could argue that Tony is a natural light-middleweight, so maybe he should've fought Hopkins at middleweight.

You might say that Tszyu fought in a division below Tony. So what? Calzaghe is criticised for not fighting Hopkins despite Hopkins being in a lighter division, so let's lay the same criticism upon Margarito.

I don't actually believe the above. I like Tony, but I'm just showing you how ****** the anti-Calzaghe stuff sounds when applied to other fighters.

Let's look at another of the other great arguments in this thread

Calzaghe was 9-0 when McClellan fought Benn. Saying that Calzaghe should've fought Gerald is pretty silly, to say the least.

I am a white cheeseburger eating American. I honestly think I am right when I say when a white hope pops up they get more hype and fanbase b/c the majority of boxing fans with money are white. I'm not dogging mexicans or blacks but the dollar controls everything, that applies for most aspects of life. Kelly Pavlik, an exciting, well deserved champion, has a huge fan base that accrued in a short amount of time. I love KP. I also think if he was black he would have less fans, the percentage is debateable. People naturally identify TO AN EXTENT with their own race. All you have to do is look around American society and easily see that. Calzaghe had way more white Americans pulling for him than Hop. I rooted for Hop b/c I don't care for JC much as a fighter, this would probably be different if I was a Brit. I just don't see how you can think the boxing public is against white fighters, as it appears completely the opposite to me.

JC is not questioned b/c of his race. It's his resume and fighting style. Whether that is right or wrong is left to opinion.
