I think you believe a division must be ****ty if the best fighter is white, am I correct?

Because Lewis was champ, and he wasn't white, it was good - now that Wlad is the best, it is ****ty.

And super middleweight must be ****ty since Calzaghe is white.

That SEEMS TO BE YOUR LOGIC, but I don't agree with it because it is racist.

- Calzaghe has never been KOed. Lewis was knocked out twice by B level fighters!

- Calzaghe has a far greater number of consecutive successful title defenses than Lewis!

- Calzaghe is a a two division Ring champion, Lewis was in only one!

Joe Calzaghe, if you look at it fairly and without prejudice, is a greater fighter than Lennox Lewis.

I dont have a problem with anyone saying that Calzaghe has the better career, because after all he probebly is the #1 Super Middle of all time while Lennox is but in the top 10 of all time heavyweights, but
1. Lennox avenged both those losses in brutal fashion, and they werent bums either
2. Successful title defences means little, especially in this day and age with all the alphabet belts. We should look at who they beat. Otherwise Ottke>Calzaghe, which is completely unfair.
3. Just because a person is a champ in two weight classes doesnt mean they necessarily have a better career than someone who stays in one weight class.

Go and make a poll on if the HW division is crap or not, or go and make a poll on what is important being recognised as a 168 lb champion or being recognised as the heavyweight champion of the world. btw wladimir is my favourite fighter and i only have two of them which are Wlad and Cotto, doesnt change the fact that HW is ****ty. According to YOUR logic the majority here must be racist because they will agree with both things that I have said

Also I have seen you pick mostly white guys with your alt WLAD OWNS and hyping them up only because they are white you shouldnt do that, you shouldn't judge fighters that way.

To be honest the second part of my post was directed at the topic starter, not you. Sorry for the confusion.

You can play the "who has he beaten" game with any fighter. Who has Lennox beaten? Shannon Briggs? Old Holyfield? Older Tyson? Vitali Klitschko? Fact is that when comparing great heavyweights to other great fighters the heavyweights always have something of an advantage in that it is possible to fight everyone in your weight class without any ommissions. So Calzaghe didn't fight Roy Jones Junior or James Toney. Both those guys left his weight division in no time at all. So he took this long to fight Hopkins? Hopkins was a middleweight. Because it is relatively easier for fighters to change divisions then some guys will leave weight divisions in search of multiple weightclass titles and be accused of ducking fighters who stayed put (Mayweather is an example) while other guys will stay in the one division racking up the defenses for a long time and be accused of ducking guys a class above or below them (like Kostya Tszyu to stick with the 140 lb theme). The heavyweights have no such phenomenon. If a guy doesn't fight all the top guys as a heavyweight he has no excuses and no reason not to. Lewis fought everyone just as Calzaghe would have fought everyone if there was only one weight division.

Incidentally the Super Middleweight division is looking extremely strong at the moment, far stronger than light heavyweight which consists of Old Hopkins, crap Tarver, overrated Dawson, robbed Johnson and untested Erdei as well as Calzaghe.

you always seem to think that everything has to do with race. it really isnt man. look...these are the HW contenders today

honestly, who do you think looks better? It really has nothing to do with white or black.

and the Super Middle division is a very new division, thats all. it still was when Eubank and Benn were in it, too. it doesnt have half the depth that Middleweight or Light Heavy have.

I think Super Middle is pretty deep now although it doesn't have the deepest history. I don't think Light Heavy is particularly strong at the moment, as detailed above. It's mostly past prime fighters battling each other for a shot at their last million in the bank. Middleweight is a shambles. Aside from Pavlik you'd struggle to find a top fighter. Winky Wright has had better days. Arthur Abraham was considered a loser in his fight with Miranda by almost everyone. Who else do we have? Felix Sturm? John Duddy?

Super Middle is where it's at right now in that region with Lucien Bute, Mikkel Kessler, Jermaine Taylor, Edison Miranda, Anthony Mundine etc.
