That's my point. Everybody who has beaten recently is either too old or if young/ prime they're overrated or something else.

So now waiting for Cotto to put in at least one or two more good victories at welterweight is gonna make him a better victory for Floyd when they fight.

If Hatton who was 44-0...Top 10 p4p.....Ring Magazine, linear Jr.welterweight champion, a guy who defeaed a real champ and future hall of famer in Tszyu to get his title.......isn't a great fighter, then imagine the excuses if Floyd beats Cotto.

Cotto never defeated a real champion at 140 but just won a vacant WBO belt.
He won a vacant WBA 147 belt.

You can see what I'm getting at. I know the urgency from the fans is there to see this fight but that's not the point.

The point that you morons are missing is the Floyd and Cotto both know the fight will be there! If not because of all the ******s on here panicking and demanding the happens. Floyd (and Cotto for that matter) are just letting it marinate and build up so that it will eclipse the DLH money. You are a complete fool if you think if they fought today it would draw what DLH-Mayweather did. Cotto has no where to go but up. Second, Floyd is very intelligent when it comes to the business of boxing. He let Cotto fight all of the fighters (risk) and that makes Cotto respectable in my opinion but, he knows that either Cotto won't make it through the ranks (Judah,Mosley.Margarito,Cintron,Williams and Clottey) or if he does (or whichever one of them do) It will be a mega fight and all Floyd has to do is beat the winner. This is psychology 303 with a little taste of the Art of War. Floyd knows that his days are numbered because of his hands and he only wants maybe two or three more fights.

Reading comprehension is not your best attribute, you dumb ******. I said that Cotto vs Mayweather will make more money than the rematch between DLH and Mayweather. If he was building hype for this to happen wouldn't you think he at least would pretend there's a possibility of this fight happening. Not overlooking Cotto and talking **** about fighting Hatton in Wembley. He just wants Cotto, who is by far his biggest threat, to lose and so he can continue to make easy money no question asked.

flawed argument.......if nobody is good enough for floyd to beat to call him a "great" fighter, then by the same token, who can cotto beat to call himself a "great" fighter, and worthy of a match with floyd? bottom line is, if cotto beats margarito, give the boy a shot............
I agree with that. But that's one more victory and fight the fans gonna have to patient for. And then after that fight and if Cotto is victorious we can start talkin about it.

Floyd's name definitely deserves to be in the same sentence as Henry Armstrong and Barney Ross.

                • Would Floyd be such an attraction if he would've lost to De La Hoya?........................NO. He is now thanks to De La Hoya, if DLH would've faced Cotto, Cotto would be selling like crazy that's why Cotto wanted to fight him but DLH knew he would've been KTFO.

wrong............floyd made like 30 mil for the first fight.............he'll make around 20 for the second fight. reagrdless, many ppl think it was close (i don't, i thought floyd won easily), but he won't make 20 mil fighting cotto. 10-15 maybe, so i understand fighting dlh again, b/c that's big money he WONT make fighting any1 else. so while the cotto fight will maybe draw more interest, it wont necessarily draw more money......a second fight with hatton, he could do without. dlh at least has a "puncher's chance".

i dont agree with the thinking that floyd is waiting for cotto to come into form tho, pbf said 2 more fights and he's done. the rematch with dlh, and i think he'll fight cotto after that. and thats assuming cotto gets past margarito, who i dont favor, but i think has a shot also.

i agree. that's why i always thought after the dlh rematch, either floyd or dlh would end up fighting cotto. like it or not, he's really the only other welterweight besides mosely, or jr. middle that has any kind of recognition, that will generate $$$.
