Prior to facing De La Hoya, Floyd had never cracked 400k PPV buys, and his fight with Baldomir had less than 10K in attendance in a city where Mayweather resides, which was even less than the attendance for Cotto-Gomez. Of course the ratings for Cotto-Gomez weren't up to par; there was a dueling card on Showtime the same night. I know many people who tuned into the Showtime card live and caught the HBO card on replay because they felt the outcomes on HBO were forgone conclusions. But anyway, it's not a coincidence Mayweather did big number with De La Hoya and Hatton, those are without a doubt the two biggest draws in the sport. If he's such an attraction, he wouldn't worry about another fighters drawing power. Because if it he's the ticket seller, and the other guy supposedly isn't, then Floyd would be able to demand a larger portion of the pie. But I honestly believe, he's sitting back hoping for Cotto to lose, so he can dismiss him as being unworthy, even though it wouldn't be the first time he fought a fighter coming off a loss. He'll hope to use that as a reason for pointless rematches with De La Hoya and Hatton.
THIS MOTHER****ER KNOWS WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT!

Before Oscar's fight thats two years ago,Floyd has since moved up in his career just like Cotto has moved up as well. Its just at the moment they are not on the same level.Surely its injustice to talk about what someone was like 2 years ago.

2 years ago noone wanted Floyd as much as they do now

If u really look at the big picture, most Floyd fans are making excuses as to why they DONT want to see Cotto/Floyd, while most Cotto fans are eager to see this fight win/lose/or draw for Cotto. Why is that? As a boxing fan, why would u NOT want to see this fight sooner rather than later?

Hatton would never fight cotto, hatton is too small, and has already stated that he would only fight floyd at welter. If Cotto beats margarito he will be a undefeated unified welterweight champion, that has to be the fight after oscar not hatton.
Oscar fought Floyd for a reason, that was a big money fight out there.I dont see why Floyd should do Cotto any favours in this case.

            Floyd wont fight the best.

3 fighters Mayweather is afraid to fight:

            1. Miguel Cotto
            2. Antonio Margarito
            3. Winky Wright

Floyd is afraid to lose. He will not risk fighting any of these opponents.

I keep making this same point but floyd fans just don't wanna hear it, and I have to say they are generally the most diluded on this forum. It didn't matter who a prime roy jones jr was fighting he drew big numbers. The point being floyd is not the draw he or his people think. Why not just say cotto is too much risk for too little reward? Or just don't say anything at all!

Names like Clottely, Mayorga, Quintana, and even a rematch with Shane Mosley have been brought up. But realistically, are either one of those fights going to make him that much better than he already is? He would've beaten 3 former WW champs (Mosley, Quintana, Margarito) by then. What more do they want??
If there's no fight with Mayweather, I wonder the same thing. He's beaten the top names at 147 if he gets by Margarito. It's either he just fights young prospects in the welterweight division like Berto or Williams. Or he moves up to 154 and takes on someone like Vernon Forrest or Cory Spinks. And that's even if he feels like he can be comfortable at 154.
