If that is the fight the fans want to see then we'll see which one makes more money. I guarantee you it will be Mayweather vs. De La Hoya II

Can the Host Venue, PPV and sponsors alike afford to have such an event be underserving? Hell no. Cottos fan base is relatively minimal in comparison to the potential drawing of a De La Hoya or Mayweather, who continues to work at his marketability (You do believe that the WWE appearance was a part of it). Fact: Without a Huge following PPV sales would be dismal. It would be more than Obvious that Cottos' handlers work on generating interest when Cottos' previous fights barely scratched at over 300K. This fight will happen and trust Mayweather would want to eclipse any previous numbers ever recorded. Why De La Hoya II? Why not. Ricky Hatton II? Why not?..... Huge "Fan Base" = Huge Numbers. And Paquiao has a HUGE Following.....Fact Cottos' fans are majority of Puerto Rican descent..his biggest events are held here in NY, where the Puerto Rican population is Huge, he needs more than that to be relevant in the BOXING WORLD.
No he doesn't! He has a whole country supporting him in puerto rico, cotto has been selling out madison square garden for a few years now, mayweather couldn't even sell out grand rapids against ndou. There is no doubt that floyd is the bigger draw now! bu thats cos the gatti and de la hoya fights gave him the cross over appeal. Thats all cotto lacks, he has the solid fan base but fighting and possibly beating floyd would give him the recognition and give him the trinidad type popularity and superstar status

Not really true to say Cotto has been selling out Madison square
And even when he does it takes 3 months to sell tickets while it takes 35 minutes for Fkloyd, with people paying mega bucs

You never cease to amaze me ! Most of you are nothing more than 'keyboard warriors' that have NEVER stepped foot in a ring. Much less ever boxed in a competition. You sit here and call someone a coward when the very person you're calling a coward could easily whip your goofy asses! Thats like the ****** ass fan talking **** to Charles Barkley at a bar and forgetting he wasn't talking to his television set until Barkley tossed his ass through an window. Boxing is a spectator sport to you morons, it's a career to the ones talented enough to embark on it. Career means make money! You are playing the role you're playing because you have not the talent to be in their shoes yet you call them cowards??? Maybe they should go to your job and call you dumbass! At least they would probably be right judging by some of the **** some of you post on here.

That is complete **** .. Cotto has one of the best resumes in boxing, Cotto is the best name Floyd could have on his record, its the hardest fight he could take, the biggest challenge, little reward? How about the WBA welterweight title .. Floyd is already loving it that Cotto is fighting Marg, cause now he knows he only has to fight one of them not both, he probably wont fight either of them, i used to like Floyd but seriously hes gone too far.

We aren't claiming to be the best in the world, if you claim to be the best in the world, you fight the best, its that simple.

Listen to what you're saying! The whole country of Puerto Rico isn't the world and isn't going to fill up any of the venues in Vegas! Second, who the is Ndou gonna draw? Cotto is not a NATIONALLY well known fighter outside of NYC and Puerto Rico! Period!
