Fatigue and not throwing enough punches in rounds 6-12.

how is he the better boxer if he fights that one counterpunching style.how did the loser look better than the winner?hopkins never hurt joe and joe landed some good straight lefts in the fight but you people act like joe never landed a clean punch in the fight

          i think it was joe's work-rate,
remember it was a fast pace for b-hop,
he was not able to handle it

Yep the old master would have won with just a bit more in the tank, it has to be age, He was far more lively against Tarver and Wright. He still has great power, accuracy, defense and ring smarts...........hes not shot at all, he just cant fight at a fast pace for twelve rounds anymore.

he's 43 and he faded. simple as that

we all saw hopkins round 1-4, the fight looked exactly like the kind of fight he wanted it to be against joe. as rounds go on joe landed a lot more leather.

the fight def needed to be a split decision- but the last score card that had joe up by like 3 or 4 rounds was flawed to me.

that fight was joes- i think thats fair to say. but if it had been a split for hopkins i would be saying the same thing in his defense.

ugly-ugly-ugly and CLOSE fight. wish it could have happened 4 or 5 years ago.

If you watched this fight from rounds 2-12, you would never know Calzaghe had been knocked down, as he wasn't hurt in any other part of this fight(
as shown by his total disregard coming forward from the 3rd round onwards). The flash knockdown was just that, flash. Calzaghe got up smiling

Bull**** he was wobbled at the end of the 7th and in just about every of the few exchanges when Bhop rallied it was Joe who backed out .
Bhop got tired as the fight pace was too much for him , nothing at all to do with Joe working him out , he got tired because he is 43 , not hard to figure .

Along with the bloated compubox numbers, Hopkins lost the fight before they got in the ring. I find it hard to give a fight to someone that throws and doesn't land. Calzaghe threw more but landed about 4 clean punches the whole night. Most of you hate Hopkins, that much is evident.

I don't hate him even slightly. I greatly admire and respect Hops for his accomplishments. He's just old and the reflexes aren't the same.

That said even Joe acknowledges Hopkins was his toughest fight. Joe won by a split. Not bad for a 43-year old fighter. But honestly Hops best days are behind him and it showed.
