You can say his age all you like, fact is this was the best Hopkins has been in the last 5 years, and he still got beat. Take Bernards **** out of your mouth, swallow that spunk and listen up:

Joe Calzaghe was the better fighter, who landed more clean shots. He outworked Hopkins, and badly. You can talk all you like about "In his prime Hopkins would KO this Eurobum" but one thing you have to remember, if Hopkins is in his prime, so is Joe, and on the only evidence we have to judge such a fight, Joe still wins.

Bernard lost to a white boy, deal with it.

I would say Age was the biggest factor.

Bernard is no longer a 12 round fighter and hasn't been for a few years now. Truth is he beat Taylor at least one of the two times. Joe Calzaghe did everything but impress me. This seemed to be a matter of stamina. I've never seen a boxer as big as Calzaghe punch so softly.

I think B-Hop won 1-6 with ease at least and Joe did out work him after the first six... the only problem with that is ... he wasn't landing or throwing any punches.

I won't knock Joe anymore for what seems to be his way of fighting (it made him a champion). I do think Roy would be a good fight for Joe though.... it would be a crowd pleaser and a money maker. It's obvious where Joe and Hopkins stood skill wise so being that the winner was chosen ( however unfairly) let's get and exciting fight and what would be more exciting than Roy vs Joe.

Kelly Pavlik would be good to but it would be of no legendary significance.

It was quite evident that he was the much stronger man, and when he hit Joe, he hurt him. Hopkins never appeared to be hurt by ANYTHING that Joe hit him with, therefore i dont know why he was so hesitant to let his hands go. It was quite frustrating to watch.

With that said, Joe beat him on workrate alone. Its not as if he outboxed or hurt Hopkins. He won because he was the busier boxer.
the reason hopkins lost is beacuse he was fighting joe calzaghe.some of you people act like this is some new **** hopkins always fights that way, he is very defensive and barely punches, he could never beat calzaghe

Age, clearly. He seemed to have got tired in the later rounds to me, which never happens to bhop. Even though he was landing the harder shots, calzaghe was throwing and landing more, which cost him the late rounds

I think age was the reason he tired so quickly. He looked tired to me in the eighth round. Still a good win for Joe.

Like i've said in other threads, in this fight, the loser looked better than the winner. Joe outworked Bhop, but in no way did he outbox him, or hurt him. Bhop was clearly the better boxer, and landed the better, harder punches. He just didnt let his hands go enough in order to get the nod.

inactive and age. those two factors cost him more rounds which made it closer. although i still thought he edged out a victory
