I'm undecided on what I think of the match-up.

On one hand, Roy looked excellent against Trinidad and showed he wasn't past it, but on the other I can just picture his losses to Tarver.

In an ideal world, Roy would fight a top opponent before Calzaghe, thus proving he is still a huge threat. **** it though, it would be a crime if Roy and Joe never fight.

Two of my all-time favourite fighters.

Fighters at the top can never win with some people. Pavlik will be too small. Jones will be too old. Dawson would be too "overrated" or inexperienced. People will find a reason to say they're not good wins if they really want to. The upside with Dawson would be if Calzaghe won and then Dawson went on to be a really good fighter, people would have a hard time arguing against it. But they'd probably say he was too inexperienced at the time.

That's why Calz should just tune them out and continue on his path. Fighters are always more respected once they're long gone.

I think this fight will be tough for Calzaghe. I want Roy to pull it out. Might bet on him with my heart and not my head.

I actually think the jones fight while not as physically demanding has a better chance of beating calzaghe then pavlik has, I think pavlik would have success against joe but would lose a clear points decision, his only chance would be joe getting old over night.

Jones has the style to give joe loads of problems, even at this age has great speed and a hard style to deal with. I think jones is capable of knocking calzaghe out in the first half of the fight, if he doesn't i expect calzaghe to get a late stoppage in an exciting fight
