I'm guessing you think that was a legit knockdown.

Looked more like a decent punch and a bum rush push to me. At no time in the fight was Calzaghe seriously hurt. And please don't think this was a prime Calzaghe.

Yes he would of because a prime Hopkins (the Hopkins that fought Echols-Trinidad where he was a boxer-puncher with a good workrate) would have matched Calzaghe's Work rate when they were trading.

Yes, a prime Hopkins would beat this Calzaghe. BUT..the Calzaghe we saw tonight is def not in his prime.

Calzaghe is 43-2 now, he has two gift decisions against Hopkins and Reid.

Calzaghe is a good fighter but Hopkins would have beaten him when he was a lion, much more active and much better, ask a superman rjj

Hopkins won the first round. I think we all agree on that. It's how he is seen by some as winning most of the next 11 by some people I am unsure of.

Ha. How did you score the Reid fight? Round by round.

Victim? Yeah, Calzaghe was KTFO tonight.

Hopkins inactivity, grappling and holding is what kept him in this fight tonight. Letting your hands go against a quicker two handed puncher wouldn't be a good idea, see Lacy or Kessler to a lesser degree. If both guys were younger it would be a different fight, different strengths and weaknesses to consider. Tonight, Hopkins did what he should have done, make it ugly but it just wasn't enough.

Although I picked Calzaghe to win the fight and had him winning clearly I think Hopkins of 1998-2003 would have beaten him.
