I highly doubt that. I am guessing that Johnson and Diaconu are fighting for the interim title that Adrian won today so Dawson gets to keep his belt. Dawson and Tarver are unifying around the fall and the winner should meet Johnson or Diaconu for their title shot.

Diaconu is not the WBC light heavyweight champion, he just has the interim title so that makes him the mandatory challenger for Dawson belt. Just like Michael Kadsitas was the interim champion for Casamayor's belt.

It's kind of a dumb move by the WBC. They played that card with Maskaeev because he was holding the title hostage with his "injuries".
