Thats what I was trying to get at..He does lay on the ropes a little to much...And if thats the case..he will pay a price for it..I know Floyd will try to roll the punches...but trust me, one of the punches will penetrate through his defense and it will stun him. FLoyd has the quicker feet to move around but HONESTLY I just dont see him staying away from Kelly's power the whole 12 roundsComment

Although thats a great opinionLet me tell you something. Growing up I thought Roy Jones was invincible. Why? Because he said he was and did things nobody else could do. But then he got knocked out and wasn't Mr. Unknockoutable anymore.
Floyd Mayweather is no fool. He knows he's not a strong welterweight. He knows that against Baldomir, he could move around because Baldomir lacks the fundamental athleticism to keep up. He also knew that Zab Judah and Ricky Hatton moving up would be the same functional size as him when he went into the ring.
Oscar de la Hoya is past his best and he figured the payday would be worth the risk given that Oscar doesn't have the vitality to go a hard 12 rounds anymore.
The reason I bring up these points is that Mayweather realizes that he is a natural 140 pounder and that his body won't be able to acclimate to the higher weights.
Just as Roy Jones knew he wasn't invincible, so too does Mayweather. It's not like he'll let fans think that, though. He provides what they want, someone they can relate to and live vicariously through.
if you could literally see whats in floyds mind... its that nobody can beat him
gaurantee you this... pavlik offers floyd 30 million... your about to see a fight you thought you wouldnt seeComment
I think it would be suicide for Floyd to lay against the ropes agaionst Pavlik trying to counter..he will get caught.
I think Pavlik would get throughly outboxed though....I cant see Floyd taking any risks in this fight..none...and that mean Pot shot festival.
You're basically describing a typical Floyd fight.Comment

So you don't feel Mayweather can be beaten? If so, then what are we talking about? Forget middleweights, this guy should be fighting light-heavyweights and cruiserweights.Comment

This question goes out to ANYBODY: what fighter was better than Oscar De La Hoya at 154, at the time Floyd fought him?Comment

skillwise- i'd favor floyd over taylor, pavlik, miranda, whoever at mw, bar none. you guys really don't understand how skillful floyd is. he trains and spars with middleweights people, he has the skills added with the intelligence to beat any middleweight out there. people talk about pavlik landing a right on floyd and knocking him out, like floyd's been knocked out before, you people are funny as ****. pavlik has the power to knock floyd out, but who knows if he would. oscar landed some nice right hands on floyd and floyd took them very well. floyd is a better mover, better inside fighter, much better defensive fighter, and much smarter fighter than any middleweight fighter i see today. i mean, he can beat them skillwise for sure. will he? that remains to be seen, but he damn sure has the skills to.Comment
