Roy Jones-Tavoris Cloud: Winner Gets Tarver?

According to the Tallahassee ********, the IBF has ordered an eliminator between former four-division champion Roy Jones Jr. (52-4, 38KOs) and power-punching prospect Tavoris Cloud (18-0, 17KOs). The winner would be named the mandatory challenger to light heavyweight champion Antonio Tarver, who won the title last weekend from Clinton Woods. [details]

What is Roy Jones doing at this stage of his career fighting prospects? He should be on the senior circuit alongside Calzaghe, Hopkins and Tarver making huge amounts of money off of his name.

BTW, I'm not sure Jones will look so good against a natural light-heavyweight. He's not a huge puncher at the weight and his legs aren't spruce anymore.

A lot of people see him as an up and coming serious threat at that weight. One of the best prospects in boxing.

just checked his boxrec, his kos tell me he's got good power. never heard of him before. did he ever fight on national networks, or hbo, or espn for that matter? there's not a lot of info on him.
im not gonna be biased cuz ive never seen him, but based on experience, jones should school the guy. 18 fights is not enough to fight a seasoned champ like roy. easy victory imo

Him and Cloud are the two highest available ranked contenders under the IBF.

But just because the IBF is ranking him shouldnt mean they can make him fight this guy or another, they should have no say over roy.... i know roy wants calzaghe, if he wins that is...

SWEEEEEEEEET I hope RJJ takes this fight and just dominates Cloud and then destroys Tarver and that would put him back on top like he needs to be, but he better take Cloud seriously and train hard.
