It has to do with Floyd's willingness to engage another fighter, because it is directly correlated to the chances he can be hurt, that's why I brought it up. That leads me to think he's be even more reluctant with Margarito who throws Twice as many punches and with a lot more steam.

That's not a counterpoint to anything I've mentioned. The biggest question of the fight would be his willingness to throw shots throughout the rounds. He'd undoubtedly land easy shots pretty much at will... but whether he would do it often or just enough to stay active and winning rounds would be sole up to him.

Of course, as would everything else in the fight. But all we can discuss (as we have been) in a boxing forum is our interpretations of previous fights and applying them to create an opinion and prediction. Your prediction said there was a considerable chance that Mayweather stops Margarito, mine said that he couldn't. And that's why it is relevant to what we were arguing.

I think he would definitely throw enough shots to win rounds, but not to stop him.

I can't believe this thread is made, it's obvious the only real threat to Mayweather now is Miguel Cotto, and I still think Money would take that W home. Margarito is too 1 dimensional to compete with Mayweather, it would either look like an impressive KO win for Floyd, or a boxing clinic like against Baldomir.

It's good to see that you're beating a dead horse 10x.

Everyone knows that Floyd would out point Tony, because he's the best fighter on Earth and only an idiot would bet against him at 147 pounds.

The fact ****ing remains that he's deserved of a chance to fight Floyd.

He'd be a much, much, much more live body than Oscar, Judah or Hatton was. And in fact he'd make the fight much much closer.

Yeah I think Floyd would Gatti Cotto around the ring.

I think mayweather wins a decision to be honest.

I dont think he can really knockout margarito (if you have seen margarito fight you know what im talking about; he has a granite chin).

however i DO think the fight is interesting the whole 12 rounds.

                  why?

margarito's punch output (1200+ punches a fight) and the fact even if mayweather tags him all night he more than likely wont be able to put him down and margarito has enough power to definately knock out mayweather it would be at least exciting for the whole fight...

even if mayweather has won 10 straight rounds going into the 12th margarito will still be in the fight 100%...because he has the power and punch output to land that one big punch to change the whole fight.

so its still interesting and good in my opinion...not like someone who ISNT a power puncher and falls behind (like a paulie malignaggi) then you know its over...but with margarito and mayweather its different.

cotto or margarito v. floyd will be very interesting to be honest. the fans win either way.

mayweather has never faced a fighter with margarito style and size, thats why if this would be the most intriguing fight of floyds life unlike his last fight which was fake and garbage agaist big show which wasnt even a big show ,just comedy

Mayweather stinks out the joint but wins a clear decision, sort of like the Castillo rematch.
