Have you seen any Germany judging recently? It's like they are fighting for the mobsters or something. Worse than japan in k1.

Until you people stop paying ppv's featuring fighters protected the the whole of their careers, boxing will continue to decay.

Could a fight between David Haye and Joe C please you as much? Haye is the best thing out of Europe since Lewis and Hatton and yes, we all see what would happen. Destruction. But it's funny, the media and the general noise not even once talked of this fight. Maybe Haye is not 40 yet. I'm sure a snake is lurking on Haye, building a pretty shinny record out of med opposition to challenge Haye when he's not ready, but the snake is.

        ARe you ******?
Haye i a natural HW, and the CW limit (where he has to drain the **** out of him) is 32pounds above the SMW-limit. WHy not ask Manny PAcquiao to fight Kelly Pavik or Chad Dawson. What a ****** comment.

I thought Bernard and Joe were fighting in the Light Heavyweight cat. Haye can make that. He would be a bit drained yes oh well nevermind Haye then but someone half decent. Am i the only one disgusted at Joe for fighting a 43 year old who looked awful in his last fight, has no power or speed?! Who the **** will buy this fight?! It has been announced to be a walk in the park for Joe. And this is probably his last fight! Damn... Talk about Mayweather fighting Oscar again, please!!

Great original post, demonstrating some people around the world, particularly in the US, are aware of Joe, his ability, legacy, achievements, and why they've not gotten him more known. I think most people, even he, thinks it's a shame. There's various reasons for it.

            * He beat Eubank at a time Eubank was for once getting sympathy and love from the fans, so people kinda lost interest when Joe took over, not a leap into fame many receive beating a legend.

            * He wasn't allowed into the olympics for ****** political reasons, he knocked the guy out, whom went on to get a medal. Audley and Khan show winning medals at the olympics get you well know, and Joe missed out here. However he cites it for shaping his mindsight and long reign.

            * He's defeated all his opponents before they had the chance to get themselves a name. Beating Joe was what would have gotten Reid and the likes bigger names. But Joe beat them all, and with it, they're names and any reputation as a good fighter. Many were better than is made out, but Joe beat them, and beat down they're careers, so seemingly appear as no namers to some.

            * He didn't get many bigger fights in the US because of various reasons, all of them unfortunate. Joe has shown he wanted to fight yanks and in the US. Bernard backed out in 02, for me that would have been career defining for either one. Joe had to back out of fighting Johnson due to hand injuries that have disrupted him a few times. Roy JJ didn't want anything of Joe despite Joe being willing. Any one of these 3 alone would have gotten Joe a much bigger name in the US and world. Few are the fault of Joe.

            * Frank Warren - helped Joe pay the bills when he needed to, and get some consistency going. However he hasn't particularly helped pull off big fights, the more I watch and learn of him the more I dis trust the guy. He's very shrewd and doesn't let the fights make the own choices enough. It's a pattern I don't like promoters taking up.

            * Joe is way more introverted then many boxers, British alone. Hatton draws loads of people for supporting Man City football club, talking more, bantering, cracking jokes, showing more of himself, and building up the hype. Joe's never really been the one to do this so much, which I think aids his boxing, and legacy in many ways. Shame he isn't respected and renowned for it, we need more chilled respectful guys in boxing.

            * He's Welsh, not English. Pains me to say this as I'm half of both, but I think it is a factor. Look at Tennis, Englishmen Tim Henman got so much attention especially at Wimbledon. Andy Murray a scot, is consistently demonstrating capabilities and potential above Tim, has beaten the long reigning no. 1, when many have struggled, yet receives much less media attention and recognition.

This is just some of the factors I can think of, but there's many more.

Majority of joes fights came in the years where boxing was in the toilet in britain. hardly shown on the box etc.

Once it picked up again he started getting more fans.

a no name bad ass like joe would have never got a shot at hopkins or roy back in the day.

i watched the sheika fight the other day.. cracking rumble.

                      yeah that was sick.

Joe has been benefitting from the revival of boxing. Which started when Audrey the A-Farce Scaredyson won the gold in sydney.
