      I agree, it's a shame.

Its a shame, because that was one of the best fights last year.
Are you sure about that? 7pm PST is a Boxing hour anyway.

If he was american he would be one of the most famous boxers ever. It also sucks that he and Bhop are nearing the end, and we will not have them to watch and enjoy for much longer. They are both super special for this game that we all love, and it sucks they are near the end. It was a great run, and thanks to boxing, and them both for all they are, and have done. Can't wait for sat!
you should have seen him when he was young! he had a ton of power in his straight left.

He didn't do it because he would have been average, the level of competition would have been too much for him. Could he beat Roy Jones Jr or B Hop? No. Not in their primes anyway. That's why he has waited. Boxing is a business for him and if you don't have your 0 you don't have great business.

            Very well put.

JoeC's legacy could have been much greater if he had taken some bigger fights earlier. It falls back on his management for not getting the fights and on Joe himself for not pushing enough.

However he has made megabucks filling arenas in Wales against mediocre opposition, so he'll retire secured for life and with all his faculties. Thats not so bad.

Do you really try to justify it by "the americans didn't want Joe around" (although some are happy to boo their own anthem for Hatton and most of them didn't say **** when the anthem was booed) Sure, the last thing the average american wants is a white hope with an undefeated record. :S Or "the americans wanted an huge purse" Well that actually make sense, you just don't come in and say "i want 50% because i have an undefeated record in Europe!"

Do you honestly think fighting Bernard Hopkins at 43 years of age qualifies as a big fight? Or maybe Mikkel Kessler who seems to have come out of nowhere to be known as the guy who beats everyone cept for Calzaghe and oh, Miranda apparently.
Until you people stop paying ppv's featuring fighters protected the the whole of their careers, boxing will continue to decay.

Could a fight between David Haye and Joe C please you as much? Haye is the best thing out of Europe since Lewis and Hatton and yes, we all see what would happen. Destruction. But it's funny, the media and the general noise not even once talked of this fight. Maybe Haye is not 40 yet. I'm sure a snake is lurking on Haye, building a pretty shinny record out of med opposition to challenge Haye when he's not ready, but the snake is.
