Seriously though, I think this whole race think is being masively overplayed. As a white person, I even feel a little uncomfortable or even amused when fellow white people complain about racism against them, since we've hardly suffered much oppression have we? Its just...meh. Hopkins should say whatever he likes, Calzaghe isn't going to be offended.

Maybe its a US thing. We have plenty of racism in the UK against Asian people, but the tension between black and white is nothing like what it sometimes appears to be in the US. The history just isn't there, or at least not to the same degree.

I read something once:

I am white and I grew up in Blackburn in the UK, which has a huge Asian population, and I've been called whiteboy more times than I care to remember, but I've also seen Asian shopkeepers have their windows put through, women in burkhas abused in the street and lived with casual anti-Asian racism from friends, family members and work colleagues ever since I was a child.

All this leads me to conclude, as I said, that white people complaining about racism is a bit rich, and that whiteboy and such like is hardly an insult anyway.

My question:
