Bob has long been negligent about the handling of Margarito's career. Maybe you should look at it as why Margarito hasn't drawn. I mean he is an action fighter who has been in a lot of entertaining fights and fights anyone at anytime. Yet he toiled on undercard after undercard not expecting to get any break.

my theory is this. Bob has had a good relationship with Fernando Beltran and if you notice all of the Beltran managed/promoted fighters have had serious push from Bob. JL Castillo, Jorge Arce, Erik Morales and now JCC Jr have all benefitted from getting Top Ranks undivided attention. However, at the same time non Beltran managed Latin fights such as Margarito, Martin Castillo, Jesus Chavez (pre GBP), Famoso Hernandez received little if any promotional push from them.

and you dont know the entire story behind what Tony was offered to fight Cotto. right after the fight with Clottey they were discussing possible fights for Tony which included names like Vivian Harris, Luis Collazo, and at the very top of their lists were Paul Williams and Miguel Cotto. At around Feb I think they submitted their list of names as to who they think they could fight next, met with Top Rank to discuss, and draw out a plan to make their top fight, the one with Miguel Cotto, happen. Now mind you this is in the middle of Tony about to become a free agent so knowing this, Arum puts a caveat to him getting his fight with Cotto like Arum promised. He had to sign on for three more years after the Cotto fight. Tony wasn't feeling this because, at the time, Top Rank really never promoted Tony the way they promoted other Mexican, Fernando Beltran managed, fighters so he wanted to see what was there for him. Angered by this they began their own negotiations with Dan Goossen about making his mandatory against Paul Williams who had been calling Tony's name for a while. When the negotiations about this fight got to Bob, Bob tried to put a stop to it with the WBO, making everyone fly to Puerto Rico to straighten it out. Once the money was set Tony decided to fight Williams for somewhat less than what he would have got for Cotto but also with facet, if he won, his name would be the main one out there for Cotto to fight.

He took a dangerous fight with an opponent he did not have to because like he had said all along he would be willing to fight the toughest opponents provided they would be willing to fight him. He took a chance most fighters wouldn't have and I respect him for that.

You may not like the man and thats cool its never been my job to win the world over on Tony's behalf but please do give the man his due. Considering the other names he could have fought (Harris and Collazo) him opting for Williams when Arum tried to pull a bait and switch on him was high respectful of the fight game and his word that he would fight anyone.

and as a fan yeah I am happy he is back in the mix and Arum did right by him by putting him on the PPV of Cotto Mosley in order for him to look good and gain momentum.
This isn't 100% accurate. Tony did not begin negotiations with Goosen-Tutor on his own. The fight went to a purse bid, as ordered by the WBO, and Arum, thinking he had Margarito hooked for the Cotto fight and that he was going to vacate the title, didn't bother to bid on it. Well, GT Promotions won the fight (as the only bidder, if I remember correctly) and the rights to promote/make the Margarito-Williams fight. Tony decided, after talks with Arum, that he wasn't going to vacate the title that he had worked so hard to earn/defend and, thus, opted to make his mandatory against Williams and then go for Cotto as a unification bout.

Things didn't turn out as planned for Margarito, tho, as he lost his title in the ring to Williams and set himself back, in both his finances and his career. He's lucky that Cintron thought he was up to the challenge and wanted to avenge his then only loss. Cintron had other options, like defending against his mandatory: Joshua Clottey, but chose to fight Margarito. Had he not, we wouldn't be talking about a Cotto-Margarito fight next, as I'm sure Margarito would've fought a no-name fighter and would've had to work his way up to a Cotto fight again.

Yes he does, but it's obvious that Cotto is the bigger draw and more popular fighter, and let's face it, Cotto has more potential and ability.
