Cotto by ud, but wouldn't be surprised if Margarito won. Margarito isn't the greatest boxer out there but he has a great mental age over fights. Margarito will fight until the other fighter is laying on the canvas and Margarito fights all 12 rounds if it goes the distance. Like against Paul Williams he never gave up even though he lost.

I think he is a very strong inside fighter, but if he fights someone like cotto, I think Cotto will keep him at a distance with Cottos hard jab.

      Cotto by decision.

He needs to fight a smart, disciplined fight though because I don't think he can hurt Margarito but Margarito can hurt him. Cotto needs to outbox Margarito, not outbrawl him.

who voted for cotto by ko?? wtf lol. anyways this should be a great battle fight of the year candidate. Cotto was folding and backing up and getting caught while being pressured by mosley. If he thought that was pressure wait till he gets in the ring with margarito. His chin better be ready for hundreds of punches a round from all angels!! Cotto has really improved on his speed and now has a great jab. This fight should be a classic!!!

          I 100% agree.
The toe-to-toe battle would favor Margarito but I believe Cotto WOULD be able to box Tony, but he should certainly not fight the Magarito fight like he fought the Cotto fight - Arrogant and often keeping his blocks down, posing. Because if he fought like that, Big Tony would hammer him, lol! But that won't happen, no way he'd fight Margarito like that.

Miguel Cotto is like Chad Dawson. They can give out tremendous ass whippings, but they aren't so good at taking them.

I promised a few concerned members here that the Gomez fight was my last underdog bet - so believe I'm taking Margarito in educated fashion. I don't expect any Cotto fans to jump ship on him though.. And I won't give them a hard time about. Especially seein as how I never do that..

Maybe Cotto could surprise the people who don't think he could stand up to Margarito's pressure - the way Dawson did Johnson's tonight, but I personally wouldn't count on it. Cotto can't hurt Margarito. On the other hand...

Although I would expect Cotto to enjoy significant advantages in handspeed and mobility as I expected him and them tonight.

I agree with you on cotto needing to box him, only problem is margarito forces you to fight there's not much you can do but fight back!

wtf are you talking about? Gomez would get murdered by margarito. Whether he tries to box or not is irrelevant. Margarito would go after him and not show boat like cotto but pound his body and ko him early way early!

I'm watching the Cotto-Gomez fight while posting this, haha my bad.
They said Gomez and I typed Gomez - I did fix it though.

I expect Cotto to get lured into a brawl once in a while but Cotto is strong mentally, I think he can stick to his gameplan.
