The point of the thread is lol, that two British champs have come over in the last 5 months and lost, Cal will be the third.

Woods was a minor titleholder. Not a champion.

Get in the ring and spar, it takes years to master.
Okay let's look at this another way. On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate what Tarver done tonight? Also, how do you think he would have performed against Dawson or Hopkins or Calzaghe?

Because it's a bait thread and it's redundant since Joe isn't a champ in the light heavyweight division.

If American fighters were defending their titles over here they'd lose too. It is an advantage no doubt.

At the highest level to have to make adjustments. It's the little things.

Using tonight as an example is wrong though, Woods was poor and barely tried. His effort reflects poorly on himself not on British boxing. Desire is not a thing British boxers ever get criticised for their lack off.

I don't want to be negative about Woods, but he'll regret that performance for the rest of his life.

It looked like Woods just showed up in Florida to pick up his final pay check. He froze badly. That said, I didn't think Tarver did anything special either... it was a dull fight... but props to the 39 year old.

This is the one sport where you cant mix apples and oranges, he had a gameplan and stuck to it against Woods, Tarver doesnt usually move backwards that much, so in that respect for his gameplan considering it worked, he did a great job. I hardly saw a round to give to Woods, I could care less for Tarver, but I hate when people try and downgrade any fighter. Many said Woods was better since the Jones fight, I hadnt seen him since Jones and Im sure he had gotten better, but it didnt show tonight and you have to give credit to the guy who was standing across from him. You go stand in the ring with Woods and see if you can get the same result that Tarver got then come back to me and post on here.

But Woods left all his belief, desire and heart in Sheffield

Perhaps, I hadnt seen Woods since the Jones fight, but one thing I was wondering, had Woods fought all come forward and guys that stand in front of him since Jones? If so perhaps he has a problem when his opponent is on the backfoot.

This is a ridiculous argument. I don't box nor am I the same size as Clinton Woods so anything that would be achieved by stepping into the ring with him would likely be negated by the offset of induced amnesia. Let me also say that I have never starred in a movie or won an Oscar but I don't think I need to in order to tell you that Terminator 3 is a **** movie. I'm guessing your shelf isn't stacked with academy awards either but I'm quite sure you have opinions on movies.

Getting back to my earlier point, on a scale of 1 to 10 how would you rate Tarver's performance tonight?
