Why wont Cotto Just Called Out Floyd....!!!

Cotto calling out Mayweather wouldn't have changed much. He's already spoken his name several times in the press.

Actions speak louder than words, and they've got to get down to negotiations.

That won't happen until Cotto is the biggest payday possible for Mayweather and vice versa. Even then, there has to be enough money so Arum and Mayweather put aside their differnences.

Why can't the boxing commison force Mayweather to fight cotto? Isn't Cotto his mandatory? I don't understand how Mayweather is allowed to hold onto all those belts of his and not be forced to fight the number 2 ranked boxer in the divison. Cotto should be ranked one, but he won't ever be because the boxing commision lets Mayweather do whatever the hell he wants

If you are the champion by one organization, you can't be a contender in the other.

Mayweather has the WBC belt @ 147. Cotto has the WBA belt. Now Margarito has the IBF belt. None of them can be mandatories for the other belts.

It wouldn't have done much anyway. Would him challenging Mayweather in public have cancelled the upcoming Mayweather-DLH rematch, or make Arum want to make the fight?

Now when Cotto starts demanding Top Rank to make the fight, HBO puts up a lot of dough, and Mayweather has no better options for a big payday, that's when it will start mattering.

Guys. Cotto wants the Mayweather fight. Whoever says he doesn't isn't tuned into reality. Everyone with a brain knows it's Mayweather choosing to wrestle, dance and avoid the dangerous fights. Cotto is the one fighting the big names at WW division. Mayweather's mindset is this. I don't want to fight him. I wanna make a ton of money in rematches with Oscar and Hatton. 2 guys I knows I'll beat again easy. One's an old fart who's getting older the other is a 1 dimensional midget. Risk vs reward. So he's letting Cotto fight tough guys while he's out making easy money with his legacy intact by not risking having his undefeated record tarnished, while Cotto is fighting tough guys. This does 2 things in advantage for Mayweather. Cotto either ruins his chances at a Mayweather fight by losing one of these fights trying to make his case for a Mayweather fight. Or he notches win after win, taking out other potential fighters Mayweather doesn't want to face (Mosley, Margarito etc.) and finally when the money is good enough for Mayweather and the public demands he fight Cotto or they'll disavow him if he doesn't take the fight. That's when he'll sign on the dotted line. But not in 2008 thats for sure. Mid 2009 at the earliest when you look at his schedule.

Did you not hear that Cotto clearly said:

"I don't need Mayweather"

"I can't make him fight me"

"When Floyd has the courage to fight me - then I will fight him"

This fight is in FLOYDs fragile hands and he doesn't want to touch it because Cotto is going to give him his first L.
