Emmanuel Steward needs to sit his sweet potato lookin' ass down somewhere.

Cotto didn't face the best at 140. I don't see Judah, Tsyzu, Hatton or even Gatti on his resume at 140. Give me a break.

Judah had moved up to WW before Cotto had even won the WBO title against Pinto, so I wouldn't count him as one of the top guys in the division since he'd moved up. As for Tszyu, he was injured before Cotto won the title as well and came back for his title against Sharmba Mitchell and then took the Hatton fight, so I can't blame Cotto for not fighting him, either.

However, Vivian Harris, Junior Witter, Hatton, and Mayweather were all in the division so there is no reason why fights with them couldn't have been made. That's why I say that Cotto didn't fight the best out there. Gatti was/is a bum.

He never fought Hatton, Witter, Vivian Harris, or Mayweather, the other top 5 Jr. Welterweights while he was campaigning there (I'm not counting Gatti even though he was a title holder). He beat some good competition and gave us some exciting fights, but to say he fought the best is a bit of an exaggeration.

As for Mayweather not fighting a true WW, he's right. However, he did fight a true Jr. Middleweight, so he gets a pass in my book.
Also, I don't think that Mayweather is that interested in fighting Cotto. Not because he's scared or because he thinks he'll lose (PBF is too ****y to think he'll ever lose), but because he can't make the same amount of money he made against Ricky and Oscar. If Arum is willing to give Floyd $20M, I'm sure Floyd would be more than happy to fight Cotto. Since that kind of paper isn't out there for Cotto, I doubt the fight ever takes place.
LOL.. a part time past his prime JM who started his career a mere 2 pounds above Floyd.

between Floyd and Cotto.. Cotto's resume at 140 is better.

i agree, in the states, ricky isn't pulling substantially better #'s than cotto, especially not at the gate.

PPV's - its a unity of both fighters, a cotto / floyd fight makes a million PPV buys.

If Cotto VS Floyd were to occur...

Every Puerto Rican no the planet would order it...

As well as every African American...

I wouldn't say there is bad blood between us...

But there is always this issue of superiority when it comes to "toughness" and such...

I think Cotto VS Mayweather would break every PPV record based on the fact of how many people want to see Mayweather lose.

You see how many celebrities were in attendance for Hatton/Mayweather?

                    Imagine that ten fold.
